City Winery Hudson Valley Presents Raul Malo live in concert on March 26th at 7pm

RAUL MALO is the incomparable frontman of genre-defying, GRAMMY Award-winning band The Mavericks, and the sole writer of many of their songs. His free-wheeling, swaggering style seamlessly blends neotraditional country, rock ’n roll, and Latin rhythmic fervor, and prominently features his lush, soaring baritone. His compositional craftsmanship includes penning progressive and timeless hits like “Here Comes the Rain,” “What A Crying Shame”, “Dance The Night Away”, “Back In Your Arms Again”, and “All You Ever Do Is Bring Me Down.”

Peekskill, NY   See Map
Always innovative, Kristina Koller pushes the limit to make her mark in the music world. A jazz-centric artist, Kristina has developed into a highly individual songwriter, arranger & vocalist.

In her debut album 'Perception', Kristina breaks through the standard vocal jazz mold and delivers a compilation of deftly composed originals and reimagined gems, carefully selected with the thematic focus of love and relationships. On her second album, 'Stronger', she combines art rock with jazz & indie-pop in an array of original music. Her songs radiate mental strength, projecting empowerment through self-discovery & awareness. On her latest album 'Get Out of Town', she celebrates the music of Cole Porter. She mixes R&B, neo-soul, traditional swing and acoustic jazz sounds in a tight 8 song compendium of Porter's music.

Kristina developed her musical voice in the NYC jazz scene, performing at venerable haunts such as Smalls, Smoke, Minton's, Mezzrow as well as The Apollo Theater.

Johnny Irion
Folk/Traditional, Rock (modern), and Roots Music
Spencertown Academy Arts Center
790 Route 203
Spencertown, NY   See Map
Look forward to an evening of folk, rock, roots, and everything in between. Johnny Irion comes by his American roots bona fides honestly. He has performed and collaborated with Pete Seeger, Arlo Guthrie, Jeff Bridges and John Goodwin (Crazy Heart), Superchunk, The Jayhawks, Wilco, Glen Phillips, and Ramblin Jack Elliot and been seen on stages around the world, such as Royal Albert Hall, Carnegie Hall, Newport Folk Festival, Winnipeg Folk Festival, Royce Hall, and Byron Bay Blues Festival.

Born in Columbia, South Carolina, Irion grew up in the restaurant business hearing the sweet songs of his grandfather, a singer-pizzaiolo and first-generation American who crooned as he cooked. As a teen, he cut his teeth on bass in a punk group with Zeke Hutchins (Sharon Van Etten, Leon Bridges) before going on to develop a unique voice of his own. He has a new album coming out early summer featuring Jeff Bridges, Chatham Rabbits, and members of REM and Wilco.
