The BeanRunner Cafe welcomes back "A Glimpse of Soul". This local band has gained a strong following in the Hudson Valley area presenting a volatile mix of classic soul, funk, blues and rock and a sound that makes you want to tap your feet, pound the table and get up and dance.

They’ll take you on a musical journey through the 60’s, 70’s and 80’s, performing the best of Classic Soul, Classic R&B, Motown, Disco and Funk all while putting their own dynamic spin on it.

Robert Bidney is a Southwest Florida-based singer-songwriter whose songs are both relatable and have a strong commercial sensibility, and whose messages are as strong as his melodies. Accompanying himself on both guitar and keyboards, he is a seasoned performer who connects with his audiences through his infectious energy and emotional performances. He has released three albums to date: Thank Goodness (2023), Rush of Hope (2019), and It’s All About The Love (2015) – all of which are available on the major digital download and streaming sites. He’s also written and produced national radio and TV jingles, and other artists have covered his songs. Not one to be pigeonholed into a particular musical style, Bidney writes and performs songs in a folk, Americana and folk-rock vein and has incorporated country, pop and musical theater stylings in his work as well.

Carlos Jimenez, is an extraordinary flute player and vocalist as well as composer and band leader of Jazz, Latin jazz and Salsa. His family moved to Villalba, Puerto Rico when he was 6 years old and it was there that his musical training began. Inspired by Mongo Santamaria, he pursued becoming a jazz flutist. He studied classical flute at the Music Conservatory of Westchester under Dave Fenucane and expanded into jazz, studying with master musicians Mario Rivera; Dave Valentin; Bobby Porcelli; Mitch Frohman; Vinnie Rickitelli; Rolando Briseno and Enrique Fernandez. He also studied harmony/voice with master pianist, Mike Longo, Alfredo Valdes Jr. and Hilton Ruiz.

Heron Valley is a young, high energy band hailing from Scotland, with roots that lie in Scottish and Irish traditional music, It features the angelic voice of lead singer Abigail Pryde, who also plays fiddle with the group. Heron Valley has performed for festival crowds in France, Italy, and the UK, as well as in the U.S. which they are now touring for the third time.

Guitarist Pete McCann has been an integral part of the New York City jazz scene for over 30 years. A sought-after sideman from duos to big bands, with a unique and wide-ranging set of musical skills, McCann has played guitar on over 100 CDs. Pete has performed in every type of venue from jazz clubs to jazz festivals, schools to concert halls and even Carnegie Hall.
