Evocative Jazz, Exotic Lounge
with Duo Loco; Studio Stu & Brian Melick
Jazz, Alternative, and Contemporary. Evocative Jazz, Exotic Lounge
Kingston Farmers Market
John Street & Crown Street
Kingston, NY   See Map
Duo Loco is the most basic form of jazz, interpretation, drum and bass/voice duo, a sort of, ‘Duja Vey’ (the feeling that none of this ever happened before).

This eccentric jazz duo takes the very best in classic jazz and pop, and twists and bends them into what they call ‘evocative jazz, exotic lounge’. In this ‘duo virtuosi’, nothing is sacred.....improv is rampant...lyrics are changed at will...notes and chords are bent and perverted...familiar languages are obliterated....harmonies are sweet and sour perfection, and yet, serious, sophisticated and uncompromising in execution. The is one in-tune, out-of-tune, offbeat outfit.

2 x 90 minute sets
FREE + OPEN TO THE PUBLIC (ALL AGES)
Come enjoy original tunes written and performed by head brewer & farm owner Evan Watson!
Did you know, the name of the brewery was born out of Evan’s music career?
Evan moved to NYC in 2007 after graduating from college in Ohio to work with producer/songwriter Peter Zizzo. Within a year Evan entered a record deal and shortly after delivered his debut Album "A Town Called Blue". In 2009, Evan assembled a New York based band and began touring throughout the country including Bonnaroo & 10K Lakes Music festivals. Slowly building credibility playing regularly at NYC clubs like The Bitter End, Arlene's Grocery, Rockwood Music Hall, & The Bowery Electric. After years on the road opening at large venues for performers like Heart, Def Leppard, Meatloaf, OAR, Spin Doctors, & appearing on The Voice Season 7, Evan decided to pursue his passion in the world of beer. That is how his Plan A music career became his Plan B brewery career!

City Winery Hudson Valley

City Winery Hudson Valley Concert In the Vineyard Series presents Damn the Torpedoes live on Sunday, July 9th at 2 PM.

Over the years Damn The Torpedoes has evolved with more committed members and a deep understanding of the Tom Petty catalog. The current lineup has been in place for several years and demonstrates the unspoken chemistry that makes a great band.

The signature riffs, harmonies and underlying parts of the music are all there---along with some fresh twists that are often. By 2007, so many people had told him that he looked and sounded like Tom inspired in the moment. The resulting performances have audiences smiling, singing, dancing and mourning the loss of this great artist.

Whether they’re ripping through a set of original jigs and reels, adding lush three-part harmonies to traditional folk ballads, or cracking up an audience with stories from the road, House of Hamill puts on a show that captivates audiences from the very first note.

Rose Baldino of Burning Bridget Cleary, and Brian Buchanan of Enter the Haggis, first found themselves onstage together at the 2014 Folk Alliance International conference in Kansas City, and subsequently formed the duo, House of Hamill. Four years and hundreds of shows later, the duo added bass player Caroline Browning.

Today, Pennsylvania-based House of Hamill is a fixture on festival stages across the US and has shared their music and stories on the country’s premier folk stages. Their version of “Pound a Week Rise” rose to #1 on the US Folk DJ charts, and the video for their all-violin cover of “Sweet Child O’ Mine” amassed over 16 million views on Facebook, where it was shared over 400,000 times.

Hootenanny Cafe Mini Concerts

The Scooches, (Indie Folk, Americana, Genre-Bending) led by multi-instrumentalist Nick Russo and singer-songwriter Betina Hershey, are a world-class lineup of standout musicians from New York, Suriname, Sapelo Island (Georgia), Mexico, India, and the Caribbean. Their 3rd album, Lift You Up, builds upon the exuberance that made Get Us Out Of Fearland #2 on the International Folk Charts with 10 original songs and one foot-stomping traditional tune. Inspired by the current social climate, most of the songs call upon society and the human race to believe that we, collectively, can make a difference, a change for the better. Elmore Magazine championed their “remarkable musical dexterity with songs that bask in a genuine roots regimen and a sense of timeless tradition.” Big Takeover Magazine described their convergence of minds, souls and cultures as “Not just music forged from myriad sounds and cultural styles garnered from genre and geography but the music of the world, about the world.”
