A Brother’s Revival was formed in celebration of the 50th Anniversary of The Allman Brothers Band by former member, David Goldflies (78-82) and Mike Kach (singer/keyboard for Dickey Betts and Great Southern). They created “A Brother’s Revival,” to honor David’s former band. It is the most authentic Allman Brothers Band tribute that includes the fan’s favorite songs in their original format, just as they were performed when David toured with Greg, Dickey, Butch and Jaimoe. They perform all of the fan favorites, from Ramblin’ Man to Whipping Post.
Classic Skynyrd Live is performed by Southern Steel, the most requested opener of The Outlaws when they perform in the Northeast, which they did at The Paramount Hudson Valley in 2022! This New Jersey based band performs with an unrivaled level of energy, generating standing ovations and calls for encores time after time. They deliver all of Lynyrd Skynyrd’s fan favorites, from Free Bird, Simple Man, Sweet Home in Alabama, Gimme Three Steps.

INTERSTELLAR CINDERELLA

Adapted from the children’s book by Deborah Underwood, Interstellar Cinderella is a “fractured fairy tale” set in a sci-fi world where Cinderella dreams of a future in rocket ship repair, set to music and theater by WindSync. The WindSync cast serve triple duty as narrators, musicians, and characters in this fully staged piece complete with costumes and choreography. Students will connect musical moods to scenes from the story, including the excitement of a ball, the panic of a ship malfunction, and the epic rush of space travel.

The audience will learn about the five wind instruments, connect music to imagination, and participate in music-making.

City Winery Hudson Valley presents Jimmy Sturr and His Orchestra live in concert on Sunday, April 30th at 2 PM.

At the time that rock was reaching its crescendo, and in the era when Country was dazzling the nation, a strange phenomenon was taking place. In essence, this phenomenon was the rising popularity of JIMMY STURR as the hottest musical attraction in the polka music field.

The reigning king of the field is a good looking, smiling charmer with brown hair, blue eyes and charismatic rays emanating from his presence. Sturr is the fellow in front of the orchestra.

The Porch Brothers
Americana, Acoustic
BeanRunner Cafe
201 S. Division Street @ Esther
Peekskill, NY   See Map
The Porch Brothers are Richard Brooker and Tom Heany. They sing and play acoustic guitars and mandolin. Their songs are mostly American and mostly vintage, with generous handfuls of originals, contemporary gems and surprises thrown in. A typical set might include jazz from Duke Ellington or Django Reinhardt, a gem or two from John Prine, some standards, a country classic from Cindy Walker, a few fiddle tunes and some of heartwarming, heartbreaking originals.

Richard Brooker's deft touch on guitar and mandolin comes from decades of playing songs from American, Celtic, Gypsy and Brazilian traditions. Tom Heany is a Hudson Valley songwriter; his instruction manual is the great American songbook, and his newspaper is traditional American music.

They sing like well-loved old cars.

Donations to the musicians are greatly appreciated.

Suzanne Vega

Emelin Theatre
153 Library Lane
MAMARONECK, NY   See Map
Suzanne Vega emerged as a leading figure of the folk-music revival of the early 1980s when, accompanying herself on acoustic guitar, she sang what has been called contemporary folk or neo-folk songs of her own creation in Greenwich Village clubs. Since the release of her self-titled, critically acclaimed 1985 debut album, she has given sold-out concerts in many of the world’s best-known venues. Known for performances that convey deep emotion, Vega’s distinctive, “clear, unwavering voice” (Rolling Stone) has been described as “a cool, dry sandpaper-brushed near-whisper” by The Washington Post, with NPR Music noting that she “has been making vital, inventive music” throughout the course of her decades-long career.
