Fred Gillen Jr. in Concert
Folk/Traditional
BeanRunner Cafe
201 S. Division Street @ Esther
Peekskill, NY   See Map
Peekskill native, NYFA (New York Foundation For The Arts) grant recipient Fred Gillen Jr has released nine full-length albums, to great critical acclaim, and has toured all over the U.S. and Europe. His songs have been featured on ABC's "All My Children," NPR's "Car Talk," CMJ's New Music Marathon Sampler, and in 2012 his version of Woody Guthrie's "I Ain't Got No Home" was featured on "Pete Remembers Woody," a collection of Pete Seeger's spoken stories about Woody Guthrie. Like Guthrie, his songs often reflect the struggles of the marginalized and forgotten, shining a light on both the despair and hope in the human condition. His live performances are spontaneous celebrations of all that it is to be human, he encourages participation, and he works hard to eliminate the "fourth wall" between performer and audience.

Admission $10.

Finnish pianist Juho Pohjonen returns to our series, this time in partnership with Inbal Segev. Mr. Pohjonen is one of today’s most exciting and vibrant instrumentalists, performing widely in Europe, Asia, and North America, with symphony orchestras, in recital, and in chamber music settings.

In her 6th decade as an artist—and as prolific as ever, having released her 55th album earlier this year—Grammy Award-winning singer-songwriter Judy Collins is taking a rare moment to look back on her landmark 1967 album, Wildflowers, accompanied by singer-songwriter Madeleine Peyroux. The cultural icon will perform an exclusive series of shows bringing to full bloom her chamber-folk masterwork supported by a 35-piece orchestra. The show will also feature Judy’s most beloved songs from her decades-spanning oeuvre.

From busking on the streets of Paris as a teenager, Madeleine Peyroux now travels the globe to perform in some of the world’s most iconic music venues. As her Careless Love Forever World tour comes to a close at the end of March 2023, she will then join Judy Collins and the symphony orchestra in April.

Jim Messina
Rock (classic)
Paramount Hudson Valley Theater
1008 Brown St
Peekskill, NY   See Map
An undisputed expert in the fine art of making hit music, JIM MESSINA’s legacy of musical genius spans five decades, three super groups, a vibrant solo career and scores of producing and engineering credits.
While acting as producer/audio engineer for Rock & Roll Hall of Famers Buffalo Springfield, Messina ultimately joined the band as its bass player. When “the Springfield” disbanded in 1968, Jim and fellow bandmate Richie Furay formed Poco. With Jim on lead guitar, Poco defined a new musical genre, Country Rock. After three successful albums, Jim was ready for a change and left to return to his passion for producing music. He signed as an independent producer with Columbia Records.
In November 1970, the Columbia asked Jim to work with an unknown Kenny Loggins. While helping Kenny get ready for a record and touring, the two discovered that they worked well together and Jim agreed to sit in on Kenny’s first album.
