Stone Ridge, NY   See Map
Steve Raleigh & The Soul-Jazz Collective is a four-piece group specializing in upbeat groove music that's a blend of soul, funk, blues, gospel, and jazz pioneered in the 1960s by such artists as Herbie Hancock, Grant Green, Jack McDuff, Stanley Turrentine, and Lou Donaldson.
In the 60s this type of music was sometimes referred to as “Funky Bop”. Jazz pianist Horace Silver stated that "Funky means earthy and blues-based. It might not be blues itself, but it does have that 'down-home' feel to it. Soul is basically the same, but there's an added dimension of feeling and spirit.”

The Norwegian artist Steinar Albrigtsen had his debut as a recording artist in 1990 with the album "Alone too long". Albrigtsen lifted country music onto the musical map of Norway, and he was quickly recognized as Norway's bestselling artist that year.  He has released 17 albums in the genres of country, blues, jazz, folk and rockabilly. Of musical highlights throughout his career, Albrigtsen says that his performance with Jonny Cash at Norwegian Wood (1992) is a milestone. With "The Pacheco project", Steinar wants to pay tribute to one of today's best songwriters, his closest friend and collaborator since the 1990s, Tom Pacheco. Pacheco has written over 3,000 songs and is lauded by legends such as Rick Danko and Bob Dylan for his ability to captivate listeners with his outstanding lyrics. "The Pacheco project" launches on vinyl and all digital streaming services on April 24th. With a pre-launch and mini concert on April 10th on the Hootenanny Cafe.

with Melvin Seals & JGB
Motown/R&B, Gospel, and Jazz
SUGAR LOAF PERFORMING ARTS CENTER
231 Creamery Pond Rd
Sugar Loaf, NY   See Map
Melvin Seals has been a powerful presence in the music industry for over 30 years with a long-established reputation as a performer, recording artist and producer. Melvin is most revered for his powerful, high-spirited, Hammond B-3 organ, and keyboards in the Jerry Garcia Band. Melvin spun his B-3 magic with the Jerry Garcia Band for 18 years and in doing so helped pioneer and define what has now become “Jam Band Music”. From blues to funk to rock to jazz, Melvin Seals serves up a tasty mix with a little R&B and gospel thrown in to spice things up.

Melvin and JGB bring an intuitive, expressive style, soul, spontaneity and remarkable chops to the table. John Kadlecik on lead guitar and vocal duties, John-Paul McLean’s savory bass, Jeremy Hoenig on the drums and, of course, a heapin’ helpin’ of the wizard’s magic on Hammond B-3 Organ and keyboards. Their chemistry is the focus from which they create a spontaneous and high art where the sky is the limit musically.

Their music has been spotlighted in American Songwriter Magazine, recognized in numerous song competitions, & featured on radio stations throughout the Hudson Valley!

"The Dirt Nappers are a roots-rock Americana band that have been hailed as “undoubtedly talented musicians who write classic, timeless songs flavored with pop, rock & roots that you’ll want to listen on repeat.” (Byron William, Indie-Spoonful)
