Queen City Lounge brings back live music and Jazz to Main Street Poughkeepsie. Saxophonist Eric Person has notched an impressive resume performing and recording with many legends in jazz such as Dave Holland, McCoy Tyner, Chico Hamilton, Houston Person, John Hicks and many others. Eric has performed with genre bending musicians Vernon Reid, Ronald Shannon Jackson, Will Calhoun, Ben Harper, and Bright Dog Red. An active band leader, Person leads Meta-Four, Trio-kinesis, and Eric Person Big Band. He is a prolific composer with ten CDs under his leadership. $10 at the door after 8pm

Peter and the Wolf, a lyrical symphonic fairy tale for children composed by Sergei Prokofiev, will be narrated by David Gonzalez while Frederick Chiu accompanies on the piano. Followed by a performance of composer Camille Saint-Saëns’ Carnival of the Animals, a musical suite of fourteen movements, each for various animals, including The Tortoise, The Swan, and Wild Horses.

OME Presents: The Monkees Celebrated by Micky Dolenz on April 10th at Sugar Loaf Performing Arts Center in Chester, NY. Dolenz will celebrate a new box set based around the Monkees’ third #1 album, Headquarters
The Norwegian artist Steinar Albrigtsen had his debut as a recording artist in 1990 with the album "Alone too long". Albrigtsen lifted country music onto the musical map of Norway, and he was quickly recognized as Norway's bestselling artist that year. He has released 17 albums in the genres of country, blues, jazz, folk and rockabilly. Of musical highlights throughout his career, Albrigtsen says that his performance with Jonny Cash at Norwegian Wood (1992) is a milestone. With "The Pacheco project", Steinar wants to pay tribute to one of today's best songwriters, his closest friend and collaborator since the 1990s, Tom Pacheco. Pacheco has written over 3,000 songs and is lauded by legends such as Rick Danko and Bob Dylan for his ability to captivate listeners with his outstanding lyrics. "The Pacheco project" launches on vinyl and all digital streaming services on April 24th. With a pre-launch and mini concert on April 10th on the Hootenanny Cafe.

Melvin Seals has been a powerful presence in the music industry for over 30 years with a long-established reputation as a performer, recording artist and producer. Melvin is most revered for his powerful, high-spirited, Hammond B-3 organ, and keyboards in the Jerry Garcia Band. Melvin spun his B-3 magic with the Jerry Garcia Band for 18 years and in doing so helped pioneer and define what has now become “Jam Band Music”. From blues to funk to rock to jazz, Melvin Seals serves up a tasty mix with a little R&B and gospel thrown in to spice things up.
