Debbie Knapper is a renowned funk guitarist who, at the age of 19, landed her first paying gig with the gospel / R&B sensation, Marvin Sease. Since then, her talent has yielded her a recording deal with RCA Records and mega producer, MTUME, and world tours with the likes of IBIS, Kit McClure, Kelis, and Breaking Point. Debbie has played in various bands including Lady Got Chops, Ladies in the House, Girls Trip, Castleberry and Dupre, Toshie Regan, Cuba Gooding Sr., from the Main Ingredients and with various other talents. In the 80s and 90s, she was co-musical director for an all-female band, IBIS, and is currently leading her own band, Knappertime. For the last 17 years she has run a popping Open Mic every Sunday evening at Oasis, a venue located in Baldwin, NY.

Al and the Pockets will be joined by saxophonist Marc Macisso. He will play all of his old favorites including “Year Of The Cat,” “Time Passages,” “On the Border,” “Nostradamus” and “Roads To Moscow” along with selections from his deep catalogue. The Scottish-born singer-songwriter has released nearly 20 introspective and lyrically powerful records featuring brilliant backing musicians (Jimmy Page, Phil Collins, Richard Thompson, Peter White, etc.). His biggest platinum successes, “Year Of The Cat” and “Time Passages”, were released in 1976 & 1978 respectively. He’s had several top 20 singles, including the above-mentioned titles, as well as “On the Border” and “Song On The Radio”.

On November 4, 2022, Daisy Jopling performed an extraordinary concert at the foot of the Great Pyramid of Giza in Egypt. She collaborated with some of Egypt’s most legendary musicians to create a show that was described in Egypt Today as “a dazzling, powerful fusion of Western and Middle Eastern music. This spectacular concert was a memorable and beautiful experience that left no-one untouched.”
Through popular demand, Daisy is recreating this magical concert for her fans right here in Peekskill, collaborating with Egyptian musicians living in New York. The evening will be an experience of Egyptian culture blended with Daisy’s music, including culinary delights, mesmerizing dance and an opportunity to enjoy traditional Egyptian musical instruments and to feel the energy of Egypt’s ancient, iconic monuments. Spencertown Academy Roots & Shoots Concerts Series will present Jerron Paxton and Dennis Lichtman in a program inspired by African-American folk and blues of the 1920s on Saturday, March 11 at 8:00pm. Paxton and Lichtman are both world-renowned multi-instrumentalists and vocalists whose musical friendship has grown organically in New York City for more than a decade. They recently released their first full-length recording, simply titled Jerron Paxton & Dennis Lichtman. They began performing concerts as a duo in 2019, and despite the loss of momentum during the pandemic, they have traveled to Israel for a wildly successful tour, in addition to performing many concerts closer to home. FRED ARCOLEO has spent 36 years teaching in urban high schools, & as long on the front lines of struggles both local & global: from daily struggles against racism & sexism to supporting immigrant workers & combating police brutality & imperialist wars. Fred writes songs & poems that strive to reveal the contradictions in our society between appearance & reality, & he spends most of his time channeling his anger over the conditions of life that exist for so many into productive activities. He is interested in the role music & the arts play in raising awareness of societal issues & inspiring people to study & act on pressing challenges of our time.
