The Ivalas Quartet, Caramoor’s 2022 – 23 Ernst Stiefel String Quartet-in-Residence, was formed at the University of Michigan in 2017. Dedicated to the celebration of diverse voices, Ivalas seeks to disrupt the classical music world by continuously spotlighting Black and Indigenous composers such as Eleanor Alberga, whose First String Quartet is featured on the Quartet’s fall performance in the Music Room, alongside quartets by Osvaldo Golijov and Beethoven. Memphis born, Alabama raised, Colorado grown and now a staple in the ever flourishing Alaskan music scene. Roland Roberts is able to blend an array of genres into a captivating yet delicate musical experience. With comparisons to the likes of John Prine, his storytelling and stage presence have entertained audiences across North America. After recording his debut album in Whitehorse, Yukon and rooting down in Hatcher Pass, Alaska, Roberts soon made acquaintances with bassist Alvin Fernandez and drummer Matthew Wallace. They formed The Roland Roberts Trio and after adding multi-instrumentalist Matt Faubion, The Roland Roberts Band was realized. | ||

Gary Terbush has been the leader of the famous Bush Bros. Band for nearly half a century. He is a horseman and a raconteur, and an all around great guy to know. Les is a founding member of the Soft White Underbelly, a band that morphed into Blue Oyster Cult. A nice surprise from his sold out performance in Hudson last weekend, we heard some of his witty show tunes. Cheryl Lambert is an ace percussionist having spent 14 years keeping the beat with internationally known drummer, Eric Parker. With two aces up her sleeve, she has morphed into "Lady Harmonica"--and she has the chops to support that. | ||
