Inspired by the music of Cuba and Puerto Rico, Cuboricua rocks the rhythms of the Caribbean; Salsa, Son, Rumba, Bomba, Plena, as well as Merengue.

These veteran musicians, to their credit, have performed and recorded with world renowned artists such as Celia Cruz, Pete "El Conde" Rodriquez, Eddie Palmieri, Monguito "el unico", Los Kimbos, and the New Swing Sextet to name a few.

This conjunto creates a traditional/modern energetic sound by placing the interlocking rhythmic figures of percussion and Cuban Tres under a smoothly swinging melody to create a ".... new sound Cuboricua.”

"It’s the phrasing that hooks you, sly and all knowing but still waiting to be told that one secret that might make it all worth it, that might make sense of this whole crazy mess".– Brian Cullman

Don't Get Me Started
https://youtu.be/X18PDw64fYQ

https://www.jimkellermusic.com/

What would you get if John Lee Hooker quarantined with Kraftwerk? Jim Keller’s mix of industrial blues and industrial menace, ”Don’t Get Me Started,” could turn out to be the definitive song for the pandemic.

Keller first got attention years ago when, as part of San Francisco group Tommy Tutone, he co-wrote and performed “867-5309” (“Jenny Jenny”), a classic power pop tune that made 80’s radio so listenable.

Keller returned to recording and performing and with a voice now aged by time, whiskey and promises, he’s got the sound of someone who could have been Tom Petty’s therapist. He’s made three solo albums to date Sunshine In My Pocket (2005), Soul Candy (2011) and Heaven Can Wait (2014).

A cult figure in the music business, Keller’s gigs at New York’s Lakeside Lounge and The Rockwood Music Hall are legendary. If the best players in town weren’t on stage with him, they were in the audience, singing along, playing along, making the sort of noise that would get you locked up in a lesser town.

Written with longtime collaborator Byron Isaacs (The Lumineers, Levon Helm) and produced by Mitchell Froom (Los Lobos, Crowded House, Randy Newman) “Don’t Get Me Started” is what so many of us are feeling right now, whether we’re stuck at home or on the front lines.

Upon the 20th anniversary of Selena’s passing, the formation of this incredible class of musicians came to be. Right out of New York, a locale known among musicians as the “mecca” for professional cover bands, “Genessa & The Selena Experience” was created! Their musical history spans decades and genres but with lead vocalist, Genessa Escobar, she has taken her childhood dreams and memories of Selena and made them come alive on-stage. Recently “Genessa & The Selena Experience” has appeared on National Television for TELEMUNDO “Un Nuevo Dia,” local television networks such as; TELEMUNDO NY “Acesso Total,” and News 12. They were featured as the COVER STORY for New York newspaper “NEWSDAY”, with a 2 page spread, as well as “TIME OUT NEW YORK MAGAZINE.” Twenty five years have now passed and her music is, not only still alive, but it has been handed down to another generation.

Peter Cole ~ Guitar/Vocals
Byron Isaacs ~ Bass/Vocals
Will Bryant ~ Keys/Vocals
Lee Falco ~ Drums

www.LostLeaders.net

Gienevieve: https://youtu.be/gLOlweoDdm0

"Promises Promises, Lost Leaders' 2019 recording, has been described as... a bit on the oblique side, somewhat contemplative and wholly catchy. Isaacs and Cole, supported by keyboardist/mandolinist Will Bryant and drummer Lee Falco, are proudly pop but their jazz backgrounds poke through when they break away and just have a little fun with it." - Relix

"...when an album [Heavy Lifting] like this comes along, I want to shout it to the world ... I want to get stuck in traffic, roll down the windows and crank it up. I want to throw listening parties and pay taverns I frequent to play it....because when the music overwhelms, that is always what I want to do and this is overwhelming. I love this album. I love it." – No Depression

Lost Leaders' partnership grew from a collaboration that has lasted through years of weirdness and magic - through Byron’s time with the Levon Helm Band, with Helm’s daughter, Amy, in the bands Ollabelle and Amy Helm & the Handsome Strangers and their time on Columbia Records touring with Ryan Adams, Diana Krall and others. It lasted through Peter Cole's time in Lava Baby and a strange NYC power-pop journey. Isaacs has strong ties to the Hudson Valley as a member of the Woodstock-based Levon Helm Band and now performs with The Lumineers.

This quartet project was bound to cause a stir and they never disappoint. While they might be likened to associated groups such as Weather Report, the sound dynamics, is nearer to Chick Corea’s Return To Forever in its 1970s heyday. The music is rock-infused and possesses great warmth and lyricism.

The quartet released the EP Eyes To The Future Vol. 1 (2019). Hakim is building it naturally - Ozmosys by osmosis. There's a powerful rhythm section, machine-like on some songs. Everyone seems to be contributing to the writing. Rachel Z's keyboards, synthesizers and effects are what define the sound.

"Adam O'Farrill likes to mix his music, as befits a New Yorker of Cuban, Mexican, Jewish, African-American, German, Irish heritage. His music affirms that a diverse population feeds a robust culture." - NPR

“Marshaling a sharp band of his peers, Mr. O’Farrill establishes both a firm identity and a willful urge to stretch and adapt.”. - The New York Times

NIGHT DREAMER: https://youtu.be/rZytGi1sEqs

https://www.adam-ofarrill.com/

Adam O'Farrill - whose father and grandfather are Latin jazz royalty - is a trumpet player and composer from Brooklyn, NY. He has performed and/or recorded with artists such as Rudresh Mahanthappa, Mary Halvorson, Arturo O'Farrill, Mulatu Astatke, Brasstracks, Stephan Crump, Onyx Collective, Anna Webber, and Samora Pinderhughes.

As a composer and bandleader, and his quartet, Stranger Days, made their eponymous debut (2016) inspired by film and literature, while the follow-up album, El Maquech (2018, Biophilia Records) covered everything from Mexican folk music to Irving Berlin, as well as O'Farrill's original compositions.

O'Farrill comes from a rich musical background, with his grandfather being the Afro-Cuban-Irish composer and arranger Chico O'Farrill, his father being the cultural boundary-pushing composer and pianist Arturo O'Farrill, his mother Alison Deane being a classical pianist and educator, and his brother Zack O'Farrill being a drummer, composer, and educator.

Adam is of Mexican, Cuban, and Irish heritage on his dad's side, and Eastern European Jewish and African-American on his mom's side. This, combined with growing up in a place of immense cultural diversity, has shaped his tendency to break stylistic borders within not only his original music, but also in terms of who he works with. O'Farrill was subject of an article in Jazztimes entitled, “Adam O'Farrill Does Not Play Latin Jazz”, where he spoke about the unfair treatment and pigeonholing of Latinx musicians.
