Melvin Seals has been a powerful presence in the music industry for over 30 years with a long-established reputation as a performer, recording artist and producer. Melvin is most revered for his powerful, high-spirited, Hammond B-3 organ, and keyboards in the Jerry Garcia Band. Melvin spun his B-3 magic with the Jerry Garcia Band for 18 years and in doing so helped pioneer and define what has now become “Jam Band Music”. From blues to funk to rock to jazz, Melvin Seals serves up a tasty mix with a little R&B and gospel thrown in to spice things up.

New York alt-country singer/songwriter/fiddler Sara Milonovich offers an ode to the blue collar north on her album Northeast.
With her band Daisycutter, she explores down-and-out cities, abandoned farms, rural poverty, substance abuse, heartbreak, resilience, and hope - all things the Northeast shares with the rest of blue collar America…except that it also happens to be a lot colder.
Based in New York’s Hudson Valley, this "downtown/upstate" band combines a cinematic city view with a bracing dose of rural realism, fusing indie roots-rock with an alt-country barbed wire edge. Fronted by singer/fiddler Milonovich, Daisycutter blazes a unique musical trail with their "mix of bluegrass and a twinge of political-punk attitude and lyrics." (Jeff Sweatman, The Corner)
Milonovich, who grew up on a working farm in rural northern New York, was leading her own band by age nine (around the time she learned to drive a tractor.) She has won awards for fiddling, singing and composing, and has performed throughout North and South America, Europe and beyond.

Several notable performers from the Mid-Hudson Valley have been confirmed, including David Amram, Tom Chapin, Aaron Parks, Joe Louis Walker, Vanaver Caravan, Dylan Doyle, John Sebastian, and Annalyse & Ryan – plus special guests.

The eldest son of the late, great Chicago Harmonica player Paul Butterfield, the first white Harmonica player to develop a style original and powerful enough to place him in the pantheon of Blues greats. Like his father, music is the driving passion of Gabriel's life. In 2012, again residing in Woodstock, New York, Gabriel launched multiple projects, a documentary film on Paul Butterfield, and a working band that celebrates his father's music.

In the summer of 1967, amongst the “sit ins”, protest marches and “happenings”, Vanilla Fudge released a remake of The Supremes “You Keep Me Hangin’ On”, scored a top ten hit and never looked back. Charting five other tracks on the Billboard Top 100 over the next three years, Vanilla Fudge were architects of a new musical style that included psychedelia, rock, soul music and gospel. They were, and are masters of reinterpreting other artists hit songs, and their effect on the soon to explode late 60’s “heavy metal” scene was undeniable. Their contribution and legacy remains intact, and with a 50th year anniversary in 2017, “The Fudge” as their devotees refer to them, are hopeful for a nod by the Rock n Roll Hall Of Fame!

Banjo player RUSSELL GOTTLIEB brings a wistful and propulsive sound to the banjo, drawing on influences from rock to jazz, bluegrass to minimalism. Russell has toured extensively in the US as a founding member of the NJ-based band The Brummy Brothers, opening for Melvin Seals and JGB, Leftover Salmon, Larry Campbell & Teresa Williams.
KENSUKI SHOJI, born in Gifu, Japan, he began playing violin at 7 with Suzuki Method. As a teenager, he joined his father's Bluegrass band. After he finished high school, he moved to the US to study with Matt Glaser (the chair of Berklee String Department ) also a world renowned jazz violinist Christian Howes.
Internationally acclaimed musician and in-demand studio session vocalist, CLARE MALONEY, has shared the stage with members of The Grateful Dead, Jefferson Starship, Hall & Oates, Blood Sweat & Tears, Bruce Springsteen’s E Street Band, Hot Tuna, The Tubes and the New Riders of the Purple Sage.
Dobro player, fingerpicking guitarist, vocalist, and educator, JAMES "PONY" KERR's performances are solidly rooted on the foundations of Delta blues and bluegrass, he incorporates a broad array of influences and enjoys the challenge of expanding genre boundaries for the lap-style square neck resophonic guitar (Dobro).
LARRY COOK is a valued contributor to the NYC music community, playing bass at venues from Carnegie Hall to subway platforms. His work on the road has taken him across the globe, and can be heard on over forty commercially available recordings. He has performed with a long list of legendary musicians in the world of bluegrass and country music, including Emmylou Harris, Steve Earle, Michael Daves, Tony Trischka, Noam Pikelny, Brandi Carlile, among others.

 Jesse Kramer's story is as authentic as it is unpredictable. It's a story of struggle, adversity, and rebirth; a story still in its preface as the young 25-year-old singer-songwriter from Indianapolis - now residing in Nashville - seeks to kickstart the official rebirth of rock n' roll for the modern world.
Jesse always knew that music and singing were his only genuine means of communicating his personal thoughts and feelings on life. He began writing and recording his own music at the age of 14. At the age of 17, his strictly religious household gave him an ultimatum: give up music or be kicked out. He chose the latter.
Since then, Jesse was personally invited by the Executive Producers to participate in 'The Four: Battle for Stardom', has produced and released his first 5-song EP, "Breakthrough", and was invited to audition for NBC's 'America’s Got Talent'. The Howland Chamber Music Circle presents the internationally acclaimed and GRAMMY award-winning Attacca Quartet.
They are one of the most dynamic ensembles of their generation. Praised by The Strad for possessing “maturity beyond its members’ years,” they were formed at The Juilliard School in 2003.
Winners of many string quartet competitions, from 2011-2013 the quartet served as the Juilliard Graduate Resident String Quartet, and for the 2014-2015 season they were selected as the Quartet in Residence by the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York.

 Kurt and Cheryl (Kurt Henry and Cheryl Lambert: members of Dog Knows) are one of the most compelling eclectic acoustic—and sometimes electric—duets to ride the musical range since Ian and Sylvia took the folk world by storm in the ‘60s, and, like Ian and Sylvia, their repertoire is wide-ranging, and perhaps more so when one considers the range of Kurt’s guitar styles (acoustic/electric) and Cheryl’s tasty harmonica accompaniments. For more than two decades, Orrin Evans has made an art form of the unexpected. With more than 25 albums to his credit, Evans has become the model of a fiercely independent artist who’s made a habit of rattling the jazz world’s confining cages. That determination has paid off in accolades like topping the “Rising Star Pianist” category in the 2018 DownBeat Critics Poll.
As a daring pianist, Evans combines raw-edged vigor and left-field nuance into a sound wholly his own. As an adventurous composer he traverses stylistic boundaries with abandon, drawing on full-throttle swing, deep rooted blues, expressive soul or bracing excursions into the avant-garde. As an audacious bandleader, he delights in daring fellow musicians to take bold risks, whether in mutable small group settings or his raucous Captain Black Big Band. As an inventive collaborator, his projects range from the nerve-rattling collective trio Tarbaby to the latest twist in his never predictable story, becoming the first new member to join The Bad Plus in the band’s nearly 20-year history.
Evans’ variety of collaborations is a who’s-who of modern jazz including Nicholas Payton, Sean Jones, Oliver Lake, JD Allen, Christian McBride, Eric Revis, Buster Williams, Karriem Riggins, Bill Stewart, Nasheet Waits, Kevin Eubanks and Kurt Rosenwinkel, among countless others.
In 2018 Evans relaunched his Imani Records label with a newfound focus on projects by young, innovative musicians, beginning with albums by saxophonist Caleb Wheeler Curtis and bassist Jonathan Michel. He’s also produced recordings by JD Walter, Denise King, Joanna Pascale, Sharel Cassity, and Eric Revis.
Evans pays homage to his mentors and influences while passing the torch to new generations. He’s recently paid homage to the late Geri Allen alongside drummer Terri Lyne Carrington and a celebration of the centennial of Thelonious Monk at Duke University, along with curating concert series at Philly’s South and New York’s Smoke.

In addition, to acknowledging Pete's birthday, we are also honoring the life and work of Pete's wife, Toshi Seeger, who would have turned 100 this year (July 1).
