![]() Friday 7:00 pm | Alexis P. Suter Band | The FALCON 1348 Route 9W Marlboro, NY See Map |
![]() Fully integrating the depth and warmth of Gospel music with the the grit and deeper sensuality of the Blues, this release blends them seamlessly into a masterpiece of modern day Blues music. I love the way they roll, with this release. This will set them apart from the crowd, and earn them many new fans while cementing their place among the elite of the Blues. - Chef Jimi Patricola - Blues411 “Without a doubt the biggest voice and heart in the blues world today.” - Richard Briggs, Pres/Founder, Briggs Farm Blues Festival https://alexispsuter.com/ Three-time Blues Music Award nominee, Suter was raised in Brooklyn, NY by a musically gifted family, and infused with the passion and the belief that music is an emotional and spiritual experience. On the gospel tune “I Just Got Off That Devil’s Train” - a duet on their most recent CD, "Be Love", Alexis joins with her 99 year old mother, gospel singer, Carrie Suter. Miss Suter brings love and energy in abundance to each of her performances. Audiences may dance and sing along to rollicking roots songs or funky blues numbers, and later are wiping tears, stirred by an awe-inspiring version of "Let it Be", one of many songs that touch deeply. Alexis and her band are not just another musical act, but an energetic, emotional experience that fans return to time after time. The core band, fellow Brooklyn natives Raymond Grappone (drummer) and Vicki Bell, (vocals and percussion) have been making music together for nearly twenty years. Grappone and Bell own and operate the Hipbone Records label. ALEXISPSUTER.COM When the great Bluesman B.B. King first heard Alexis P Suter sing, he was visibly impressed and said so after her opening set for him at BB Kings in NYC. Shaking his head in wonder, in his characteristic way, he remarked, “...It’s a rare thing to share the stage with great talent like that young lady.” Alexis burst on to the music scene as a regular performer at Levon Helm’s legendary Midnight Rambles held in Woodstock, NY. Levon was captured by what he called Alexis’ wonderful spirit and had her and the band open for him nearly 100 times. ![]() Thursday 7:00 pm | Happy St.Patrick's Day! with Niall Connolly & Band | The FALCON 1348 Route 9W Marlboro, NY See Map |
![]() "Amongst the most vibrant, poignant, and authentic indie folk artists in New York City." - No Depression "I remember....enjoying the amnesty from Lenten good behavior that St. Patrick’s Day allowed. Chocolate and rainy parades. “You don’t have to be Irish to be Irish” on the telly. Later of course, there was some drinking. But not like here [in the US]. My first years here, I remember feeling embarrassed and mildly offended by luminous green, made-in-China leprechaun-costumed drunk “My great grandmother’s from County Mary” types. Yelling at me to “play an Irish song”. “Want to see my passport? They are all fucking Irish songs.” I played a lot of bars that never should have had music. I did it. I paid the rent." Niall Connolly https://niallconnolly.com/ https://www.facebook.com/niallconnollymusic/ New York based, Cork-born songwriter Niall Connolly has released 8 studio albums, a live album and an EP. His latest album ‘Dream Your Way Out of This One’ features collaborations with his long term NYC band as well as guest appearances from Glen Hansard (Once, The Frames, The Swell Season) Javier Más ( Leonard Cohen’s band) and Deni Bonet (REM, Cyndi Lauper, Sarah McLachlan). Connolly has toured all over Europe and the US including festival appearances at Glastonbury, CMJ, Prague Fringe Festival, Acoustic Festival Düsseldorf, Cork Folk Festival and Cuala NYC. He has opened for Glen Hansard, Lisa Hannigan, Mick Flannery, Lucius, Evan Dando, Eugene Kelly, Lambchop, Wallis Bird, MisterWives and many more. He is the founder of Big City Folk Collective. Big City Folk hosts over 100 events annually throughout New York, a regular concert series in Woodstock and a biennial music festival. "An absolutely beautiful collection of songs... I was gobsmacked by the quality of the songwriting... accomplished composition and arrangements... 4 stars." - Arena, RTÉ Radio 1's Arts Show "Terrific. Disarming and beautifully crafted folk-pop. Connolly is a witty storyteller and not-to-be-missed songsmith." - Chicago Tribune "Connolly's songs are both sad and uplifting. They're real. They speak to the goodness in people, that need to do something to make the world just a little better." - Budapest Times | ||
