Dan Rieser / Drums - https://pyroclasticrecords.com/artist/dan-rieser/

When TONEQUEST MAGAZINE wrote “…another stellar Campilongo record from the fertile mind of Jim Campilongo. How does he do it? Damned if we know…” they were looking at an overview of Campilongo’s fourteen solo releases and commenting on tthe musics growth and diversity. The Jim Campilongo 4 Tet is another step in this evolution.

The 4 Tet is driven by long time Brooklyn collaborators Luca Benedetti (Ron Carter Steve Gadd), Andy Hess (John Scofield, Gov't Mule) and Dan Rieser (Rosanne Cash, Youn Sun Nah) who all bring their sound and style to create a unique distilled power. Their chemistry, focus and mutual admiration is apparent in making this musical unit sound like a joyous army.

Billboard Magazine calls Jim Campilongo "an American treasure", an accolade which this guitarist's artistry and influential career has richly earned him. TIMEOUTNYC describes Campilongo perfectly- ”New York has no shortage of guitar heroes but few cover as many bases as Jim Campilongo reveals a range that extends from seductive country-swing to atmospheric jazz and well beyond.” and the NEW YORKER says "There it was again: the stinging treble, the spooky overtones, the strings snapping and booming under his hands the sound of a Tele being played as skillfully and exuberantly as it can be played it sounded like nothing and nobody else sounded like Jim Campilongo."

With fourteen albums of original material and guest appearances on dozens of recordings -- from the Bammie-winner's contribution on Cake's million-selling Prolonging the Magic to (most recently) doing lead guitar duties with The Little Willies, his band with Norah Jones -- Campilongo has played with JJ Cale, Al Anderson, Gillian Welch/David Rawlings, Peter Rowan, Martha Wainwright, Bright Eyes, Teddy Thompson, and Burning Spear to name a few, has earned two Gold records, and has written music for national ads for National Grid, Volkswagen, SBC, Michelin and Jack Daniel's

Campilongo has appeared on The Late Show with David Letterman, Late Night with Conan O'Brien, Later . . . with Jools Holland (BBC), Abbey Road Sessions (BBC), and has been interviewed on many major radio shows.

The buzz has been building for some time now about Mike Burn's delightfully clear, smooth baritone voice. He is a singer/songwriter & acoustic flat-picking guitarist from Purdys, NY.

As a renowned songwriter, Mike has raised quite a few eyebrows. His song "My Darling" was recorded by Mark Newton on his Rebel Records CD "Follow Me Back To The Fold", Mark's tribute to the ladies of bluegrass, performed with Valarie Smith. The album won "Recorded Event Of The Year" at the 2001 International Bluegrass Musicians Association "World Of Bluegrass" Awards show.

Mike's music is steeped in the rural traditions of family, love, spiritual path, inspiration, the simple life and doing right.

Mike is currently playing with bassist Lester Wilson from upstate NY. He also runs the Westchester Bluegrass Club in Purdys NY and has been producing shows in the area for the last twenty years!

Donations to the musicians are appreciated. Proof of vaccination, ID and masks required at the door.

http://lvanhart.com/artists/don-byron-quartet/

A singular voice in an astounding range of musical contexts, Don Byron explores widely divergent traditions while striving for what he calls “a sound above genre.” As clarinetist, saxophonist, composer, arranger, and social critic, he redefines every genre of music he plays, be it classical, salsa, hip-hop, funk, klezmer, rhythm & blues, gospel, or any jazz style from swing and bop to cutting-edge downtown improvisation.

As artistic director and artist-in-residence, Byron has produced distinguished concert series for the Next Wave Festival at the Brooklyn Academy of Music and at New York’s Symphony Space. A gifted teacher, he has led residencies at universities, including Harvard and Columbia. Byron’s discography comprises a dozen albums for mostly Blue Note and Nonesuch Records.

A seven piece band dedicated to keeping the sounds and spirit of this music alive, Larry Moses' "Latin Jazz Express" is what happens when the sophisticated sounds of jazz mix it up with the red-hot Latin rhythms of Cuba, Puerto Rico and the streets of NYC.

http://latinjazzny.com/home

This evening is devoted to the works of the Masters of Latin Jazz

Tito Puente
Tito Puente, sometimes called the "King of Latin Jazz" or simply "El Rey" ("The King"), who made an indelible mark on Latin and popular culture. In addition to recording more than 100 albums, garnering Grammy nominations and Awards, and creating more than 200 compositions, Puente was and continues to be a highly revered musical legend in Latin music and jazz circles.

Eddie Palmieri
Band leader, arranger and composer of salsa and Latin jazz. - Eddie Palmieri has skillfully fused the rhythm of his Puerto Rican heritage with the complexity of his jazz influences: Thelonious Monk, Herbie Hancock, McCoy Tyner as well as his older brother, Charlie Palmieri. This created an innovative sound that mixed American jazz into Afro-Caribbean rhythms, surprising critics and fans alike.

SPECIAL GUEST ~

He performed regularly as a member of Paquito D’Rivera’s Quintet and larger ensembles such as the Dizzy Gillespie inspired United Nation Orchestra. He continues his now long-standing affiliation with the Mingus Big Band, where he has served as musical director and contributed as arranger, most notably on the 2008 GRAMMY-nominated Live at the Tokyo Blue Note (Sunnyside).

An important mid-career affiliation was with the late saxophonist Joe Henderson, with whom he toured globally and spent time in the recording studio, contributing to projects such as Joe Henderson: Big Band (Verve; 1992), Porgy & Bess (Verve; 1999) and The Other Side of Joe Henderson (Universal; 2004), a posthumously released collection.
