![]() Kaya drew her inspiration for the project from her stage experience in New Orleans where she learned how nuanced and multiplicitous the influence of the African diaspora has been in the canon of Black American music. ![]() Tony was the soloist for renowned trumpeter and orchestra leader Alfredo 'Chocolate' Armenteros. Their album, Prefiero el Son, recorded with S.A.R. Records, went gold. His years with Chocolate included group concerts, where he worked alongside music greats such as Roberto Torres, Linda Leida, Papaito, Alfredito de la Fe, Alfredo Valdes, Jr. and Marino Solano. In 1987, he became the lead singer for José Fajardo y Sus Estrellas. It was the legendary flutist and band leader, José Antonio Fajardo who gave Tony his title: El Leon del Bolero. Tony has performed in concerts with Willie Chirino, Ray Baretto, David Valentino, Cachao, Hansel y Raul, Tito Puente and Johnny Pacheco. Dave also does work for non-profit organizations like "Music That Heals" which has allowed him to play music for Children at Maimonides Medical Center, ADAPT (formally United Cerebral Palsy Foundation), Howard Haber Early Learning Center and Elizabeth Seton Children’s Pediatric Center.
