Jeremy Baum Trio: Charlie "Baum" ChristmasThe FALCON
1348 Route 9W
Marlboro, NY   See Map
Jeremy Baum has created this annual tribute to Vince Guaraldi's 1965 studio album, "A Charlie Brown Christmas" - considered one of the most beloved holiday albums recorded. The soundtrack introduced jazz with grace, charm, and creativity, to an entirely new generation, having been heard by more individuals than the work of the genre's most influential players, and influenced dozens of young aspiring musicians.

Guaraldi showed how a piano, bass and drums capture a feeling and character in living color, particularly if those feelings are complex, conflicted or even simply too beautiful for words .....opening doors for later discoveries in Bill Evans, Thelonious Monk, Robert Glasper....to say nothing of all the other sounds and ensembles waiting to be heard with jazz at its pulse. - LA Times

FEATURING ~
Jeremy Baum / Piano,
Sue Williams / Acoustic Bass
Peter O'Brien / Drums

Jeremy Baum
www.jeremybaum.com/

Falcon favorite Jeremy Baum plays the Hammond Organ, piano and leads his trio, which is rooted in the blues and funky soul-jazz sounds of the late 60s. His style is also informed by the current masters of the groove from the jam-band scene.

Jeremy has been a successful sideman, working with Shemekia Copeland, Levon Helm, soul-jazz legend Melvin Sparks, and many more. Look out for his album "The Eel", featuring funky, bluesy compositions as well as original arrangements of songs by Beck, Prince, James Brown and more.

Bluegrass royalty Leigh and Eric Gibson step into what some might at first see as uncharted territory on their country-soul breakout Mockingbird, the new album produced by Grammy Award winners Dan Auerbach and Fergie Ferguson. The celebrated bluegrass duo — named back-to-back Entertainers of the Year by the International Bluegrass Music Association in 2012 and 2013 — played the Nashville game two decades ago, while in their early 20s, and were offered a major label deal, only to be told at the last minute that they were too “retro” for modern country music. Today, such characterizations, along with their authenticity, set them apart and describes the marvelous Mockingbird.

Lindsey WebsterThe FALCON
1348 Route 9W
Marlboro, NY   See Map
Webster always manages to pull out all the stops to show us what more she can do, what hidden recesses her instrument has to bear. A Woman Like Me’s two vocal tour de forces close out the project: an original, “Always Love Me,” and a cover, “Somewhere Over The Rainbow.” - Soul Tracks

www.lindseywebstermusic.com

From the first note, Lindsey Webster combines an admirable natural talent with a genuine, accessible stage presence. In 2009, Lindsey met her partner, Keith Slattery, and started performing professionally. Together, with a band of world-class musicians, they’ve performed hundreds of shows regionally, nationally and internationally.

The success of her second album "You Change" and achieving the only vocally driven song to hit #1 on the Billboard Contemporary Jazz chart for four weeks caught the eye of Shanachie Entertainment, with whom she signed to release her third album, "Back To Your Heart". On her fourth outing - Love Inside - Webster continues a devotion to the smooth R&B and soul traditions without supplanting or mimicking, with prominent soul jazz musicianship.

The release of Lindsey’s fifth full-length studio album, A Woman Like Me, contains great songwriting and performances, featuring music industry veteran A-listers Nathan East, Vinnie Colaiuta, Luis Conte, and Mike DeMicco.

Virtual, NY   See Map
Jay Ungar & Molly Mason are musicians of enormous talent who draw their repertoire and inspiration from a wide range of American musical styles — 19th-century classics, lively Appalachian, Cajun, and Celtic fiddle tunes, and favorites from the golden age of country and swing — along with their own songs, fiddle tunes, and orchestral compositions. Jay and Molly achieved international acclaim when their performance of Jay’s composition, Ashokan Farewell, became the musical hallmark of Ken Burns’ The Civil War on PBS. The soundtrack won a Grammy and Ashokan Farewell was nominated for an Emmy.

In recent years, Jay and Molly have reached an ever-widening audience through their appearances on Great Performances, A Prairie Home Companion, their own public radio specials, and through their work on film soundtracks such as Brother’s Keeper, Legends of the Fall, and a host of Ken Burns’ PBS documentaries. They’ve had the honor of performing at the White House for two sitting Presidents.

“We Banjo 3, an Irish quartet transcending even the best superlatives” — Huffington Post

Debuting in the U.S. in 2012, We Banjo 3 has since emerged as fast-rising touring darlings in this country, which two of the members now call home. The Galway, Ireland, and Nashville-based quartet – composed of two sets of brothers, Enda & Fergal Scahill and Martin & David Howley – continually push musical boundaries while maintaining an unwavering devotion to the essential audience experience.

WB3 seamlessly blends the shared and varied traditions of Americana, Bluegrass, and Celtic music with a pop-sensibility to create a truly unique and gratifying signature sound. Brilliantly commanded instruments – banjo, fiddle, mandolin, guitar, and percussion – effortlessly elevate lead singer David Howley’s propulsive voice. Live on stage, their songs carry the listener along until, at the perfect moment, the band crescendos into catchy choruses with pitch perfect harmonies.
