Sunday 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm | We're back!! with Mark Brown, Julia Nichols, Jim Pospisil, Dick Vincent Singer-Songwriter, Acoustic, and Americana | Orpheum Theater 198 Main St. Saugerties, NY See Map |
The John Street Jam rides again, this time on the big stage at the Orpheum Theater on Main Street in Saugerties. The opening show, which we hope won't be the last, will be FREE, thanks to generosity of Upstate Films, which is celebrating the grand re-opening of this beautiful old theater.
Built in 1908, the stage was home to such Vaudeville legends as Burns & Allen and Gypsy Rose Lee, and began showing moves in 1918. Although we won't be able to re-create the original format with the musicians in the center, the intimacy of the Jam will remain on the big purple rug. More information about the Jam | ||

The album won "Recorded Event Of The Year" at the 2001 International Bluegrass Musicians Association "World Of Bluegrass" Awards show. Mike's music is steeped in the rural traditions of family, love, spiritual path, inspiration, the simple life and doing right. Mike is currently playing with bassist Lester Wilson from upstate NY. He also runs the Westchester Bluegrass Club in Purdys NY and has been producing shows in the area for the last twenty years!! Donations to the musicians are most appreciated. Saturday 8:00 pm to 10:00 pm | Jim Messina Rock (classic) | Emelin Theatre 153 Library Lane Mamaroneck, NY See Map |
Few musical artists resumés list membership in a band inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame; fewer still can lay claim to being a founding member of the seminal band credited with creating Country Rock; and only one artist can include all the above in addition to being one half of the most successful duos of the 1970s.
Playing bass, touring and recording with the legendary band Buffalo Springfield (BF), the supremely talented guitarist went on to form Poco with fellow BF member Richie Furay. The band’s aptly titled 1969 Pickin’ Up The Pieces is the only debut album ever to receive a perfect rating from Rolling Stone magazine; the landmark album laid the blueprint for the then new musical genre uniting country with rock music. On the band's self-titled second album, Poco (1969), Messina both produced and penned the band’s first hit single "You Better Think Twice” which has endured as one of the group’s signature songs.
