Webster always manages to pull out all the stops to show us what more she can do, what hidden recesses her instrument has to bear. A Woman Like Me’s two vocal tour de forces close out the project: an original, “Always Love Me,” and a cover, “Somewhere Over The Rainbow.” - Soul Tracks

www.lindseywebstermusic.com

From the first note, Lindsey Webster combines an admirable natural talent with a genuine, accessible stage presence. In 2009, Lindsey met her partner, Keith Slattery, and started performing professionally. Together, with a band of world-class musicians, they’ve performed hundreds of shows regionally, nationally and internationally.

The success of her second album "You Change" and achieving the only vocally driven song to hit #1 on the Billboard Contemporary Jazz chart for four weeks caught the eye of Shanachie Entertainment, with whom she signed to release her third album, "Back To Your Heart". On her fourth outing - Love Inside - Webster continues a devotion to the smooth R&B and soul traditions without supplanting or mimicking, with prominent soul jazz musicianship.

The release of Lindsey’s fifth full-length studio album, A Woman Like Me, contains great songwriting and performances, featuring music industry veteran A-listers Nathan East, Vinnie Colaiuta, Luis Conte, and Mike DeMicco.

Singing in a weathered voice that creates a disarming intimacy, he addresses his own wavering sobriety, failing marriage and midlife anxieties. These songs go to some dark places, but Roby manages to find some comfort setting his fears to music. - UNCUT MAGAZINE (8 of 10 Stars)

https://kennyroby.net/

Kenny Roby's full band show features...

Tony Leone (Little Feat, Chris Robinson Brotherhood)
Rob Keller (6 String Drag)
John Lee Shannon (Zephaniah Ohora)

A songwriter’s songwriter, Kenny Roby’s album ’The Reservoir' has been called a master class in that craft. A native of the Carolinas, he was originally known for fronting 6 String Drag, pioneers in the Alt-Country and Americana music movements of the '90s. The band was produced by roots music godfather Steve Earle and signed to his E-Squared Records.

Since 6 String Drag’s breakup in 1998, Roby has released 5 solo records as well as a live duo record with Neal Casal. Casal was slated to be the producer on Roby’s newest record when he passed away in August of 2019. Dave Schools of Widespread Panic then took over producer duties on ’The Reservoir,' which also features the musicianship of Tony Leone (Little Feat, Chris Robinson, Phil Lesh) and Jeff Hill (Rufus Wainwright, Chris Robinson, Steve Earle), among others.

With The Reservoir, Kenny Roby affirms and reestablishes his spot as one of the (americana/folk rock/alt country) sub-genre’s most talented and evocative songwriters - AMERICANA HIGHWAYS

New Production
by Ernest Chausson
The American Symphony Orchestra
Conducted by Leon Botstein
Directed by Louisa Proske
Idealism, treachery, honor, and perfidy collide in this richly lyrical opera by French composer Ernest Chausson. This opulently scored work, which premiered in 1903, lays bare the tragedy of King Arthur’s betrayal at the hands of his queen Guinevere and his trusted knight Lancelot.

Considered one of the finest examples of French romanticism, King Arthur (Le roi Arthus) was composer Chausson’s only opera—his own composing career was tragically cut short by his early death at age 44.

Performed by a stellar cast, helmed by baritone Norman Garrett and mezzo-soprano Sasha Cooke, this production of King Arthur takes us to a world in the midst of upheaval where long-standing codes of honor and loyalty no longer hold sway.

"Minch may be best known as an erudite, imaginative blues guitarist, but she also has a hauntingly nuanced alto voice and writes in an old-time vernacular that can be raucously funny, or profoundly sad. " -- Lucid Culture, August 2020

Big Lazy’s Guitar Noir sound can be heard in numerous films/TV series.

"Big Lazy, the elegantly gritty instrumental trio led by the extraordinary guitarist Stephen Ulrich, plays stunningly beautiful music that evokes everything from truckers' romps to the haunting film scores of Bernard Herrmann." -The New Yorker

“Avant twang, Americana noir, garage chamber music,...one thing is undeniable — the vibe is unforgettable.” -Dusty Wright, Culture Catch

“This band has sonic gravitas… just the real sound of a band with chops, intelligence and a sense of humor.” -Sara Willis, Maine Public Broadcasting Network (MPBN)

"The Big Apple Crème de la Crème." -Robert Christgau

Big Lazy has flourished for over two decades in New York’s downtown music scene, playing their singular brand of noir and twang from dive bars to the The Whitney Museum of American Art. Big Lazy founder Stephen Ulrich is the composer for the HBO series Bored to Death and the art forgery documentary Art and Craft.

Simultaneously noir and pastoral, gothic and modern, Big Lazy’s music conjures images from big sky country to seedy back rooms with deftness and a cinematic clarity. With sparse instrumentation - electric guitar, acoustic bass and drums - the trio forges American music from archetypes in Blues, Jazz, Surf, and Rockabilly.

Their new album Dear Trouble features NYC luminaries Marc Ribot, Steven Bernstein, Peter Hess (Philip Glass ensemble) and Marlysse Rose Simmons (Miramar). With a nod toward classic guitar instrumentals, the new album captures the essence of the trio’s legendary live shows.

Hootenanny Cafe Mini Concerts
Online and on the radio, NY   See Map
Heralded by Rolling Stone and Billboard Magazine, Amy Speace’s newest release “There Used To Be Horses Here” has received widespread critical acclaim. Performing Songwriter gave it 5 out of 5 stars and Americana UK writes “a remarkable display of songcraft.” Beautifully uplifting and deeply personal, the album sets Speace’s majestic voice to symphonic arrangements, yet her songwriting remains intimate and emotional. She began her career in the iconic folk venues of New York City where she was discovered by Judy Collins and signed to her Wildflower Records label. Moving to Nashville in 2009, she has become one of Contemporary Folk’s leading voices. In 2020, “Me and the Ghost of Charlemagne” was named International Song of the Year by the Americana Music Association UK. Her songs have been recorded by Judy Collins, Red Molly, Memphis Blues Hall of Famer Sid Selvidge and others. She has also written essays that appeared in The New York Times, American Songwriter, The Blue Rock Review.

As the oldest co-ed acapella group at Binghamton University, the Binghamtonics have been making love to your ears since 1987. Our witty humor, make-you-fall-out-of-your-chair-laughing skits, all-out insane personalities and groundbreaking dance moves set us apart on campus.

From performing pop to alternative rock to blues to hip hop, we spread our electric sound around campus and locally throughout Binghamton. We tour the Northeast annually during our winter tour leading student workshops and showing people what acapella is all about. We're excited to be able to share our passion with all of you, and we hope you enjoy the show!
