Aoife Scott is an award winning folk singer and songwriter based in Dublin, Ireland.

Born into the legendary Black Family, Aoife is steadily rising to the top of the traditional and folk music scene, and has long enjoyed success as an established artist in her own right. Fragile and ethereal one minute and strong and vibrant the next, her dynamic and profound vocals explore the emotional depths of her lyrics, leaving the audience entranced. Her latest album 'Homebird' was recorded between Dublin and Nashville and Produced by Ron Block ( Alison Krauss and Union Station).

For the better part of two decades, Toronto’s Enter The Haggis has combined bagpipes and fiddles with a rock rhythm section to create a distinctively eclectic sound, praised by The Boston Globe, The Washington Post and Canada’s Globe and Mail. Their songs offer singalong melodies and deep, meaningful lyrics which tell the stories of everyday hard working people, often faced with seemingly insurmountable challenges. Signature songs like “One Last Drink”, “Gasoline”, “Down With The Ship” and “Lancaster Gate” have had hundreds of thousands of plays on social media, appeared in Hollywood movies, and have been performed and recorded by artists around the world.

The Daisy Jopling Music Mentorship Foundation (DJMMF) is hosting its Celtic Joy Virtual Concert, St. Patrick's Day, March 17th at 7pm EST. Join world renowned classical and rock violinist, Daisy Jopling and her band, along with special guests, Max Hershkowitz and Peekskill City Singers, for a joyful evening of Celtic music. The concert will be live streamed from the gorgeous five-star Dramatic Hall Theater in Peekskill, NY, and restreamed on Sunday, March 21st between 2-8:30 pm EST.

Stay for a post-concert Zoom chat at 8:30 pm EST with Daisy and the band! We love to see old friends & meet new ones.

This concert is free to our Symphony of World Citizens Member's Circle and Event Sponsors. For all other guests we kindly suggest a $30 donation. Viva Flamenco! Part 1, An Evening with the Artist

There are 3 elements that comprise a flamenco performance: cante (song), baile (dance) and toque (guitar playing). Professional guitarist/composer Maria Zemantauski will guide you through the music and rich history of flamenco and its lively, unconventional cultural heritage. Hear beautiful examples of flamenco guitar music live from Maria, and from videos of past virtuosos.

Registrants will receive a zoom invitation link to this program.

Viva Flamenco! Part 2, La Guitarra Flamenca, on March 25th,

Maria will offer hands-on instruction of flamenco style guitar and show how it differs from classical style guitar. This is open to all, whether you play along with your guitar, want to learn more, or or just enjoy listening to flamenco.

SAGE is a fabulous all women Jazz, Blues, R&B, and Contemporary ensemble featuring Charisa the Violin Diva (violin & vocals),Chelsea Baratz (alto sax), Mimi Jones (bass), Yayoi Ikawa (keys), and Luciana Padmore (drums). You can now see SAGE at the BeanRunner Cafe in person or by live stream.

For in-person seating, seating is limited to 25 people, masks are required, ticket price is $20 and reservations must be made in advance. Call 914-737-1701. MASKS are REQUIRED.

Spencertown Academy Roots & Shoots Streams will broadcast a concert by Colombian singer Lucia Pulido and Mexican multi-instrumentalist Ulises Martínez via YouTube on Saturday, March 20 at 8:00pm. Recorded in Mexico especially for the Academy, the program will feature a mix of traditional “pirekua” indigenous songs from Michoacán, Mexico and “cantas de guabina” from the Andes in Colombia, along with a sprinkling of Spanish “boleros”—all interpreted in a personal way. The program will conclude with an interview with the artists conducted by Gerald Seligman, member of the Academy’s Music Committee. The performance is free (though tips are welcome via a virtual tip jar) and advance registration is not required. A link to the concert will be posted on www.spencertownacademy.org.
