Doug Gill, of Monterey, Ca might just be writing the story of your life. He has a knack for reaching into his own heart and finding the core of emotions that drives us all. He has spent the last 30 years writing, recording and performing in Nashville. His songs have been recorded by such great artists as Patty Loveless, Pam Tillis, Chris LeDoux, Tammy Wynette, Wynonna and the Marshall Tucker Band. Doug's song "I Just Come Here For The Music", was nominated for a 2013 Grammy award. His song "Peace In this House" was recently featured in the movie "Wild Rose". He currently operates his own publishing company, Peacehouse Music, with Eleven Eleven Music, and has released two fine studio albums, "Stronger Back" and "Everyman". His songs speak of strength and redemption, passion and perseverance, and he sings them with a voice that resonates with the truth. Pre covid, he toured with Lynn Langham as Langham and Gill. | ||

Spencertown Academy Roots & Shoots Concerts series has changed its name to Roots & Shoots Streams, as its programs are going virtual. On Monday, December 14 at 7:00pm, the Academy will present The Nields performing live via their YouTube channel. The performance is free and advance registration is not required. A link to the concert will be posted on www.spencertownacademy.org.
Sisters Nerissa and Katryna Nields are well into their third decade as musical partners. They have released 17 albums, had major and independent record and publishing deals, and performed with The Band, James Taylor, Dan Zanes, 10,000 Maniacs, and the Indigo Girls. Their most recent album, XVII, is both their most personal and their most community-minded. Its meditative lyrics express joy in the present and faith in the future. Charlie Chaplin and Buster Keaton are delivered to your screens with new musical scores in this one hour program from Ben Model, who hosts the show from his living room in Manhattan. Model is one of the country’s leading silent film accompanists and has been hosting a popular weekly YouTube series since the COVID shutdown began in March, “The Silent Comedy Watch Party”.
