Kingston SDA choir is led by vocalist and keyboardist. Marena Clunie. Marena has been on several recordings for major gospel artists and has recorded some of her own songs as well. She has sung at events and churches throughout the eastern seaboard (Miami, Atlanta, NYC, and Philadelphia) The event will be about 45 minutes of music, a mixture of contemporary gospel and old time spirituals. 
On the 3rd Saturday of each month we invite 3 outstanding local/regional musicians to share their music (both originals & covers). We invite the public for free and ask for donations. We've given $120,000 in music scholarships since 2008. Our performers for Saturday October 17th, John Sheehan, Peter Sando & Gus Cannon will make this an outstanding evening of music. Please join us. If you are financially stressed please join us for free. 
On this weekend in October, the Cunneen-Hackett Arts Center in Poughkeepsie will be the venue for a swinging "Showtunes!, Big Band Style" show presented by The Big Band Sound 25-piece jazz orchestra, including six vocalists and swing dance performers, and it will benefit the Sparrow's Nest local charity in a show spotlighting smash hits from Broadway and Hollywood. This original "Showtunes!, Big Band Style" show will highlight the best of the tunes in the Great American Songbook that originated on the Broadway stage and Hollywood screen, all in the most exciting setting of a live big band. In this show, songs will be performed from all of the greatest American composers and lyricists and from the most famous Broadway shows and Hollywood movies. Performances are Friday, October 16th at 8 p.m., Saturday, October 17th at 8 p.m. and Sunday, October 18th at 2 p.m. Admission is $20 with proceeds benefiting the Sparrow's Nest charity.

Each week will feature a selection of beer-stained and rhinestone-laden songs from Paula accompanied by fiddler Darren Wallace plus a special weekly guest artist! Delve deep into the repertoire, the history, and future of this treasured American musical style. We welcome participants to play along, sing along, dance along, ask your questions in the chat!

He’s back!
JB Smoove is a multi-talented writer, comedian, and actor. He can currently be seen in the beloved role of “Leon” in the iconic HBO comedy series Curb Your Enthusiasm. JB’s new book The Book of Leon: Philosophy of a Fool, based on the popular character, was released in October and was nominated for a 2018 Audie Award for the audio version. Smoove is also known for a wealth of notable TV performances including BET’s The Real Husbands of Hollywood, ABC’s Fresh Off the Boat, CBS’ The Millers and Everybody Hates Chris, and multiple appearances on the latenight talk show circuit. He hosted three seasons of the hit show Four Courses with JB Smoove on the MSG Network as well as one season of the long-running NBC comedy competition series Last Comic Standing, and his one-hour stand-up special That’s How I Dooz It is currently in rotation on Comedy Central. On the big screen, JB is currently appearing in the Netflix feature The Polka King alongside Jack Black.
