Monica Uhm
Singer-Songwriter. “accidental songwriter of whimsical melancholy”
Hootenanny Cafe Mini Concerts
Online: www.wtbq.com or 93.5FM, NY   See Map
Monica is a NY singer-songwriter known for her catchy tunes, intelligent lyrics and quirky live banter.  She describes herself an “accidental songwriter of whimsical melancholy” since she tripped upon songwriting when she wrote songs as a way to self-teach herself guitar. Open mic nights led to fronting alt-rock bands and after a hiatus raising children, she has recently returned to her songwriting roots and focused on recording projects with the community of eclectic musicians she was fortunate to nurture along the way. Her 2018 album Cowboys&Aliens (released as the band Trio Of Awesuhm) received accolades for its exceptional songwriting, vocals and production quality. She followed up in 2020 with three new singles (released as Monica Uhm) - Anthem, Song for My Cowboy and Heart In A Sling - which are 20th anniversary remakes of a 2000 live acoustic demo and are digital only releases at this time.  She hopes to release another full length studio album in early 2021 of all new songs.

The BStreetBand- A Tribute to The Boss
Pop/Soft Rock
Paramount Hudson Valley Theater
1008 Brown St.
Peekskill, NY   See Map
From the heart of the Jersey Shore, “Backstreets” was the first band in the world to do a unique tribute to a live performer. There are now an estimated 14,000 tribute bands following their lead and performing all over the world. Nearly 5,500 performances and 34 years later, the B-Street Band is still the hardest working tribute band on the circuit, with almost 200 shows per year throughout the country. Notable performances include opening for Bruce outside at the Philadelphia Spectrum for the final 4 shows of the historic arena. Additionally, The B-Street Band performed before Bruce shows at Wachovia, MetLife Stadium, Prudential Center, and the newly constructed Comcast Xfinity Center at Citizens Bank Park. The band was proud to accept an invitation from the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame “Life and Music of Bruce Springsteen” exhibition at the Constitutional Center in Philadelphia. They were featured during the opening, middle and closing nights—a real honor for any tribute band.

Walnut Valley Festival

Kingston, NY   See Map
Due to covid this fest will be held online.

I am honored to be part of a festival with a long and prestigious history in the bluegrass, Americana, folk, and Celtic world. Musicians such as The Dixie Chicks, Alison Krauss, and Chris Thile are among the Walnut Valley Festival championship winners and performers. I myself was blessed to win the International Fingerstyle Guitar Championship in 2014 and to have winning songs 8 times in the NewSongs Contest.

There will be music from acts like John McCutcheon, Tom Chapin and more all weekend. For those who love finger style guitar, Stephen Bennett plays guitar and harp guitar Saturday at 1 pm. Mark Sganga, virtuoso Latin, jazz, pop guitarist performs Sunday night at 8 pm.

Attendance is totally free. There is an option to donate starting at $10. Donations help fund the festival and pay the musicians.

I do hope you will join us if you can. It is an unprecedented opportunity to get a taste of this festival with

Joined by an “over-qualified trio of New Yorkers” she aptly calls this her "Jazz Project". You will be reminded how loveable these gems can be. Adding some of her original material, KJ will tie it all together with a special blend of personal stories that connect her heart and her sense of humor for a musical evening in the garden that is sure to entertain and elevate.
