“Our mission, our goal as an ensemble, is to play percussion music that we feel is as good as any other chamber music for any other instruments that is being written now, and get it in front of people who have never heard it before,” member Ian Rosenbaum declares. Sandbox Percussion invites you to experience 21st-century works by some of today’s most exciting composers, including:

Guitar star Dylan Doyle delights audiences, but frustrates anyone trying to define his sound....It isn’t the 19-year-old’s job to define it. It’s his job to play it. And that’s what the Dylan Doyle Band will do..." - Wisconsin News

http://www.dylandoyleband.com/

Based in the Hudson Valley, rising star Dylan Doyle has been performing nationally, as well as internationally. Southern bred, northern raised, his trio’s style of music lies somewhere between roots rock and jam funk. It evokes Woodstock and dips into southern soul. It’s a uniquely American sound Doyle calls “a big melting pot.”

Dylan's album, DYLAN DOYLE : LIVE AT THE FALCON (2017), places him, happily, in the venue and in front of the audience that has supported his work since his early teens.

After sharing the stage with the young musician in Memphis, Ben Cauley, sole survivor of the Otis Redding plane crash and co-founder of the Bar-Kays likened Dylan to a young Jimi Hendrix. When asked about the wave of young talent rising from the Hudson Valley, Van Morrison guitarist John Platania commented “Dylan Doyle is the future.” Bill Payne of Little Feat described Dylan’s work as “imaginative and original.” At the iconic Levon Helm Studios, Dylan was approached by James Dolan, President of Madison Square Garden, and was solicited to perform at future MSG events. Doyle faces an extraordinarily bright future!

https://www.facebook.com/fredzepplinband/

This classic rock band from the Hudson Valley, led by Fred Zepplin, has developed a reputation for unconventional song selection, soaring vocals and a unique performance style - unexpected from a ukulele-fronted band! The band celebrates Pink Floyd, Deep Purple, David Bowie, Pearl Jam, and of course Led Zeppelin.

Although Fred Zepplin has opened for numerous national acts, their tagline "Live, local and homegrown rock" is well-respected and supported in clubs and bars throughout Orange County NY, and its neighboring territories.

Fred Zepplin has headlined at notable Hudson Valley venues, including The Falcon and The Falcon Underground; The Chance Theatre, Sugarloaf Performing Art Center, Orange County Choppers Cafe and Brian's Backyard BBQ.

Don Byron's compositions, standards, and his interpretations of Hank Williams, the Bach Sonatas and Partitas for violin, will be performed by his outstanding quartet!

http://lvanhart.com/artists/don-byron-quartet/

A singular voice in an astounding range of musical contexts, Don Byron explores widely divergent traditions while striving for what he calls “a sound above genre.” As clarinetist, saxophonist, composer, arranger, and social critic, he redefines every genre of music he plays, be it classical, salsa, hip-hop, funk, klezmer, rhythm & blues, gospel, or any jazz style from swing and bop to cutting-edge downtown improvisation.

Since the early 90s, Byron has been consistently voted best clarinetist by leading international music magazines. Acclaimed as much for his restless creativity as for his unsurpassed virtuosity as a player, he has presented a multitude of projects at major music festivals around the world.

Among the numerous bands he has fronted are Bug Music, Music for Six Musicians (a klezmer ensemble), and an R&B band dedicated to Junior Walker’s music. He currently leads three bands: a quartet, the Ivey-Divey Trio, and the New Gospel Quintet.

His countless collaborations range from the Duke Ellington Orchestra to Daniel Barenboim and from Salif Keita to Allen Toussaint. He has composed and arranged music for chamber ensembles, dance, and film, including soundtracks for the documentaries “Strange Fruit” and “Red-Tailed Angels,” and has acted in films directed by Robert Altman and Paul Auster.

As artistic director and artist-in-residence, Byron has produced distinguished concert series for the Next Wave Festival at the Brooklyn Academy of Music and at New York’s Symphony Space. A gifted teacher, he has led residencies at universities, including Harvard and Columbia. Byron’s discography comprises a dozen albums for mostly Blue Note and Nonesuch Records.
