Sunday 8:00 pm to 10:00 pm | https://www.facebook.com/liveatthefalcon/live with Robert Sarazin Blake | The FALCON & The FALCON UNDERGROUND 1348 Route 9W Marlboro, NY See Map |
[Reviewing Blake's album RECITATIVE (2017)]'Chants that riff on the titles....are as instantly indelible as theSpringsteen, Weill, Reed, and Van Morrison lifts woven in’. Blake's concerts are a mixture of his songs, stories and improvisations celebrating the crowd, the room and the night' - Robert Christgua / Dean of American Rock Critics '...Blake has always been a true American original. (I do think if you like Springsteen albums such as Nebraska and The Ghost of Tom Joad, you will at least have a point of reference.) He sounds like nobody else, and that's a joyous thing....you'll wonder who he is and why you haven't heard about him until now. " - Marc Phillips /The Vinyl Anachronist Blake's touring and performing has become an art in itself. A world class performer in a neighborhood venue. A combination of songs and rambles landing somewhere between a concert and a theatrical instillation. Those neighborhoods have been all over Ireland and the US and occasionally in Canada, Scotland, England, Norway, Denmark, Germany and France. The shows are a one man cottage industry existing underneath and outside the main-streams of the music business. His own record label Same Room Records, featuring "recordings of songs and musicians in the same room and the same time", is an oddly unique idea in an era of digitally manipulated sounds - and he's sold over 10,000 albums from his suitcase.
