The Falcon Underground invites jazz artists to SIGN -UP and SIT-IN at our monthly JAZZ SESSIONS, hosted tonight by veteran bassist, Doug Weiss. Weiss recorded under the leadership of pianist Kevin Hays. His relationship with Kevin continues to the present with 10 recordings and many appearances. His association with legendary drummer Al Foster, led to world tours, 1000 concerts and 2 recordings to date. Doug was tapped by drummer and producer Brian Blade to record Lizz Wrights' debut album "Salt" (Verve) and toured in support of that project. The Restless Age is a collaboration - a harmony of Will Bryant, Lee Falco and Brandon Morrison. Women abstract and non-objective painters have made important contributions to the history of art in the 20th and 21st Centuries. We will highlight this history for Womens’ History Month. Artist and art historian, Marcy B. Freedman, will begin the evening with an overview of women who were at the forefront of abstract and non-objective movements and those who have followed. Peekskill proudly hosts powerful women painters who work in this tradition: Linda Winters, Athena LaTocha, Bonnie Peritz, and Dorothy Robinson. These four artists will share images of their work, aspects of their aesthetics, and secrets of their creative processes. The month of March, 2020 also marks the 10 year anniversary of First Monday Salons, moderated by Carla Rae Johnson, at the BeanRunner Cafe in Peekskill.
