In the 90s, backstage at Ben Freed's Muscoot Farm Bluegrass Festival, Lisa Gutkin, (fiddle, tenor guitar, voice), Mark Murphy (bass, cello), Michael Sassano (guitar, mandolin) and Wayne Fugate, (mandolin) gathered for a jam. Lisa pulled out one of her quirky originals and the four were on fire when Ben came around to hear what the commotion was about. The band was on the main stage 20 minutes later.

The band, ”Lisa's Pieces," gathers occasionally to lovingly perform their foot stomping, Irish-y, Jewish-y, Bluegrass-y, special something that Lisa is so well known for.

Lisa Gutkin is best known as the Grammy Award-winning violinist, singer and songwriter of the renowned Klezmatics, and for her score and performance in the Tony Award winning play Indecent. She has co-authored songs with Anne Sexton, Maggie Dubris, and Woody Guthrie, performed and composed for Sex and the City, played in Sting’s musical The Last Ship, and is a MacDowell Fellow.

"electric, incredible and rocking.... ripping white-hot blues-rock produced by....the amazing Popa Chubby"

https://www.balkunbrothers.com/

Known for their explosive live shows, internationally touring rock n’ roll band, Balkun Brothers is reinventing the term “power duo” with their heavy hitting, new-age, psychedelic rock n' roll.

Their sophomore album, ‘DEVIL ON TV’, was released on French Record label, Dixiefrog Records, and delivered the kind of honest songwriting and personal experience that connects with fans of all ages. They return to their rock and blues roots on the latest album, The Sun Studio Sessions. Engineered by Sun Studios owner, Ples Hampton, using the same vintage soundboard, microphones and tape delays that Phillips utilized in the 1950's. The album was recorded overnight, just how Sam Phillips used to do it with the blues legends, in the same room that captured countless hits.

Classic Country Music is Lyn Hardy's favorite and now she’s joined forces with with a team of veteran pros! Together they celebrate Classic Country Hits from Hank, Patsy, Willy, Waylon, Dolly and more. Put on your dancin’ shoes for a night of Honky Tonk Music!

http://www.lynhardy.com

Gifted singer, songwriter and solo performer, Lyn Hardy's song, "THE BALLAD OF FRANCINE HUGHES" has been chosen by the Smithsonian Institution for a four-CD collection of "New" folk songs titled, "FOLK SONG AMERICA - A 20th CENTURY REVIVAL". Lyn's song with David Hornungs, "GIRL IN THE RED VELVET DRESS" was recorded by Ronnie Gilbert on her album, "LOVE WILL FIND A WAY".

Hardy's performances have been described as rich, honest, strong, stirring and straight from the heart. She has a reputation for rock solid rhythm guitar-playing, from her years of experience in square, contra and swing (more years than she would like to admit!).
