Larry Federman and Chris Walsh are two musicians who have been gigging around the Hudson Valley and beyond for over 40 years. Since 1973, Larry has played guitar with numerous bands from Nashville to New York, and has recorded with, and/or shared the stage with many country artists. His music has taken him across the US and across the pond. Chris has been doing solo gigs since the 1980s, and is a founding member of the Hudson Valley band, “Thunder Ridge”, which began playing gigs in 1993. Larry joined the band in 2001, and the two have been lighting up the stage together with TR ever since. Recently, they decided to see what they could do as a duo. So in addition to working with “Thunder Ridge”, they are now also playing under the name, “Gray Matter”. Playing originals and covers – from country to rock and roll - these guys will get your gray matter pumping!

An Evening of Music and Comedy with Creed Bratton from The OfficeParamount Hudson Valley Theater
1008 Brown Street
Peekskill, NY   See Map
Mysterious, eccentric, good-hearted, and downright talented are all words that have been used to describe actor and musician Creed Bratton over the years. Creed may be best known for starring as a fictional version of himself on nine seasons of the award winning, critically acclaimed NBC series “The Office.” For nearly eight years fans worldwide grew to love him as Dunder Mifflin’s quality assurance director who unapologetically forgets the names of his own co-workers, and says bizarre confusing statements on a regular basis. While Creed may be best known for his on-screen antics, he is also an established musician with a career in music that spans nearly five decades, and he isn’t slowing down anytime soon.

Creed began playing guitar professionally as a teenager, while attending Sacramento State College and College of the Sequoias where he studied theater. He went on to become a member of the legendary American rock group The Grass Roots, playing lead guitar with the group.

Kingston, NY   See Map
Andy Shapiro grew up on Gun Hill Road in the Bronx in the 1950s, dreaming the dreams that came from listening to his sister’s Four Seasons and Beach Boys records.

Andy fell in love with the guitar as a nine-year-old listening to his mother strum folk songs, and picked up the electric guitar in the 60’s. Inspired by the Beatles and the Stones, and then Cream and Jimi Hendrix, he left college to become a full-time musician, and toured New England in a Country Rock band playing Emmy Lou, Linda Ronstadt, Hank, Johnny, Merle and the rest of the gang. Andy was part of the Boston music scene in the 70’s and 80’s in the locally renowned band “The Catch,” and then took time off to raise a family.

Andy picked up the guitar again in the new millennium, this time to become a singer-songwriter. He released his first CD “Find My Way Home” in May 2018, and his song “Through The Looking Glass”, from that album, won Honorable Mention at the 2019 Posi Music Festival.

Recognized as one of the best all-around dance bands in Big Band history, when it came to playing ballads the Tommy Dorsey Orchestra was in a league all its own. Dubbed “The Sentimental Gentleman of Swing,” the renowned American jazz trombonist, composer, conductor and bandleader was a master at creating warm, sentimental musical moods with superb dancing and listening tempos. Working with such talented arrangers as Paul Weston, Axel Stordahl and Sy Oliver to help create the mood, Dorsey showcased singers who could cast the spell, like Jack Leonard and Frank Sinatra, who’s career blossomed with the band.

Starting more than two decades ago, the original lineup included bassist Keith Macksoud, drummer Scott Morehouse, and guitarist Dan Johanson.

NAIL has released four CDs, the latest recorded live at the Blue Note’s “Late Night Groove Series” in NYC. A new disc is planned as a finale to their 20th anniversary tour dates.

“I love the orchestration aspect of it”, says Neil. “A lot of our earlier material was composed for a specific set of gear. Now that I’m back to using a traditional rig I’ve had to re-work all the tunes for the new setup, which has breathed incredible new life into the music.“

BEES IN THE BARN is a fun, high energy acoustic quartet. Their original style is an intersection of Bluegrass, Tango, Jazz and beyond. Whether in an intimate listening room or a raucous bar, they know how to read a crowd, engage and entertain. In addition to their fiery originals, they sing hundreds of crowd pleasing favorites and traditionals, and have a great time taking requests from the audience. The four band members bring decades of experience together for this exciting project.

Si Kahn is a folk and bluegrass legend, once described as “a rumor in his own time.” At 75 years old, he is at the peak of his powers as performer, recording artist, song and musical theater writer. His original folk, bluegrass and children's songs have been recorded and performed by hundreds of artists in Europe and North America. Si has performed on Prairie Home Companion, The WoodSongs Old-Time Radio Hour and Mountain Stage.

“In a world rife with many talented songwriters, Si Kahn stands alone. And his deeply thoughtful, elegantly simple, sometimes majestic, often achingly moving and always hard-hitting songs have stood, and will continue to stand, the test of time." ...Dave Higgs, Bluegrass News
