“This is an album that will need to be listened to and not just played in the background. It has to marinate in your musical soul--It is for select tastes and for discriminating ears. It will make an impression…it will.”
— John Apice, No Depression https://cpjjmusic.com/ This folk/Americana duo from Baton Rouge, LA, borrows from and transforms traditional Southern cornerstones such as folk, blues, country, and Americana. However, though the duo remains loyal to the heritage that brought them together, Clay and Jodi are unafraid of experimenting further, often intermixing mellow psychedelia and cosmic country into their classic harmonies. For The Lonesomest Sound That Can Sound, the duo worked closely with multiple engineers, studios, and mixers, including Denton Hatcher at the Blue Velvet Studio and Joshua St. Moblo at the Bakery Sound Studio. " - New York Times Mr. Malaby, a tenor and soprano saxophonist drawn about equally to ecstatic turbulence and reflective calm, convenes two excellent partners in this new trio: the guitarist Ben Monder and the drummer Billy Mintz, both expert colorists with an ability to duck in and out of established form. - Nate Chinen Tony Malaby http://www.sunnysiderecords.com/artist.php?id=231 Tamarindo: https://youtu.be/hQYOCpAtKA0 Ben Monder: Guitar http://www.benmonder.com/ Billy Mintz: Drums www.billymintz.com

Saturday 8:00 pm to 10:00 pm | The Dark Horses: Concert for George (Harrison), Glenn John Arnowitz, Paul Binotto, Michael Robert Hickey, Gerard , Michael O’Brien, Gloria Esch , Melissa Mahony, Mike Pacer, Barton Schindler | The FALCON & The FALCON UNDERGROUND 1348 Route 9W Marlboro, NY See Map |
Celebrating the extraordinary music and life of George Harrison, The Dark Horses, a powerhouse line-up of nine Orange County musicians, bring to life Harrison’s musical legacy from his Cavern Club days with the Beatles, through his solo career, including collaborations with Eric Clapton, Jeff Lynne, and The Traveling Wilburys. The stories behind the music form a narrative that connects the music to a generation for which Harrison’s music was a soundtrack, while creating context for a newer musical generation. Less a nostalgic road trip than a musical timeline that we somehow continue to discover. In fact, if The New York Times were to attend a performance, it would probably use words like, "awesome," "transcendent" and "mind-roasting" ...at least somewhere in the same issue... to describe something,...or maybe in a quote... www.facebook.com/thedarkhorsesgroup www.darkhorsesband.com
