Three great comedians, One great night! Jackie Martling is an American stand-up comedian, writer, radio personality, author, and actor also known as “Jackie the Joke Man.” Tommy Goochhas headlined the Borgata Comedy Club in Atlantic City, has been a regular at the world famous Broadway Comedy Club in NYC, and has been a guest on SiriusXM and Spectrum TV. His ranting, self-deprecating, family oriented style of comedy has made him a crowd favorite for years! Don’t miss Tommy’s natural lovable off the cuff comedy! John Iavarone was born in the Bronx and lived there until his mom decided to migrate miles away (2 to be exact) on to the mean streets of...Westchester County. Now, John has his headquarters in “The Heights.” John has been doing stand-up comedy for 2,920 days (not in a row). Whether it’s an 8 minute or 38 minute set at a Club, Corporate Function, Private Party or Fundraiser John’s audience describes his hysterically funny set in one word, Honest, Original, Animated!

Cataldi fuses Eastern beat, blues, techno and funk-influenced guitar instrumentals with gentle acoustic vocal tunes and looping, straight out of the John Martyn/Nick Drake songbook. Time Out New York writes: “Cataldi’s largely instrumental, Eastern-influenced jams are infused with some delicate guitar work and hauntingly moody atmosphere,” while The New York Times proclaims Cataldi has “a beat unmistakably his own.” Called “truly excellent” by The Village Voice, “a wide ride” by Radio Woodstock, “beautiful and unique” by WFUV’s Mixed Bag, “wonderfully melodic and off-center” by WFMU’s Irene Trudel and a “whirling dervish of musical creation” by Hudson Valley One/Saugerties Times.

Robert Gordon is a National Treasure - never a revivalist; always a rediscoverer - a dynamic performer, showman and singer, and an under-appreciated genius of an American musical artists...

http://lanarkrecords.net/lanark-artists/robert-gordon/

Gordon became a celebrated figure among open-minded oldies buffs, rock & roll enthusiasts, and generally anyone with ears, whether they liked rockabilly or not.

NOTE: Great band (Chris Spedding, lead guitar and Dylan's Rolling Thunder Tour rhythm section, Rob Stoner and Wyeth) and an even stronger performance - a definitive example of Gordon at the peak of his powers.

Nick Schnebelen – An Artist Who Stands Out In The Crowd

One of the first things you discover about Nick Schnebelen is his commitment to his music. He does not tippy-toe or wade in; he plunges right into the deep end. Forceful and determined succinctly describe Nick’s approach to guitar-playing and singing.

That’s always been the basis for Nick’s music, no matter what kind of musical collaboration he’s been in.

“I like things that are very potent and simple,” he says. “They get straight to the point.”

Nick came to widespread attention as a member of Trampled Under Foot, the Kansas City family band that was founded in 2004 won the 2008 International Blues Challenge in Memphis. Nick was also singled out for the “Albert King Award” as the best guitarist in the competition.

Robert Hayes Kee lives in Atlanta, GA where he works as an artist, curator and programmer.

His music incorporates electronics, field recordings, computer processing and occasional instrumentation into structured and improvised pieces, utilizing the functions and limitations of devices like home stereo equipment, oscillators, and tape. Pieces often deal with sound as physical matter, daily life as a structuring device, and the relationship between repetition and randomness. He sometimes plays as Nows, sometimes with collaborators.

“One of the 5 standout shows in NY [2018]” - The New York Times

"...a cathartic musical journey....wrapped in a collectively told and engaging story.... It took Fort and her trio twenty years to get to this magical place of trust and forbearance. From where I’m sitting, it was well worth the wait.” - Sam Newsome, Saxophonist [“[Colour” liner notes]

http://www.anatfort.com/

For Anat Fort, improvisation is a way of living; whether playing, composing or teaching her work is always inspired by the moment. A natural, life-long improviser, she discovered the depth of jazz in her teens. Coming to the US to study with Harold Mabern, Rufus Reid and Paul Bley, Anat developed the writing aspect of her creativity through the study of classical and jazz composition.

In December 2018 she received the prestigious Prime Minister Jazz Composers Award [Israel]; the first woman to ever win this prize.

Rachel Marie
Singer-Songwriter, Folk/Traditional, and Americana
Hootenanny Cafe Mini Concerts
Online: www.wtbq.com or 93.5FM, NY   See Map
Rachel Marie follows in a tradition of unapologetically forthright women folksingers, with songs that hearken to "overstuffed lines of Tori Amos, philosophical turn of Indigo Girls, and lilting vocals like Joni Mitchell." The social awareness of folk meets the introspection of the singer-songwriter tradition with a moderate dose of snark. Rachel takes a straightforward and honest approach to songwriting in an effort to foster genuine human connection and encourage empathy through music. Passion for using the power of her voice to shed light on injustice gives rise to poignant poetic statements on subjects from heartbreak and death to police brutality and immigration. An endearingly quirky stage presence as honest as her songs keeps audiences charmed. Boston-based and Pennsylvania-raised, Rachel has played at prestigious folk venues including the me&thee, Club Passim, and Godfrey Daniels. Rachel's latest full-length album, False Foundations, was released in May 2018.
