Thursday 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm | CD Release Party!! with Trio Mio Rock (modern), Americana, and Pop/Soft Rock | High Falls Café 12 Stone Dock Road High Falls, NY See Map |
It's been SIX (6!) years since the release of our first CD -- "Love... and Other Storms" -- and you're invited to help us celebrate "Rise Up / Stand Up", a double album of the band's latest material. Many different and varied influences come to play in Fran Palmieri's songwriting, and the band continues to impress with the tight harmonies and soaring guitar solos that Trio Mio's audience has come to expect in their live shows. This 23-song album features some of Fran's finest work, with story lines covering everything from contemporary politics (DC People), to the age-old struggles of the oppressed classes (God Bless the Working Man, Rise Up), from Voltaire (Turn Out Delight is a modern take on Candide) to Groucho Marx (Seasons). There are light-hearted moments (Please Don't Leave Me, The Last Time), and dark story-songs (Come Away, Another Lonely Boy in Paradise), but the band navigates these widely diverse themes with grace and grit. Hope to see you there! Listen to the tracks or buy the album here
Thursday 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm | Opening Act with Restless Age, Will Bryant/, Brandon Morrison, Lee Falco | The FALCON 1348 Route 9W Marlboro, NY See Map |
The Restless Age is a collaboration - a harmony of Will Bryant, Lee Falco and Brandon Morrison. Each player brings a unique song and voice to the bandstand. The members of The Restless Age have been a premier rhythm section throughout the Hudson Valley for the past half-decade. As the house band for Amy Helm's 'Oh to be Home Again' at Levon Helm Studios, they performed behind Donald Fagan, John Sebastian and Graham Nash. They toured as Kate Pierson's (The B-52's) backing band in support of her 2015 debut album 'Guitars & Microphones', and embarked on a six-week tour as Connor Kennedy & Minstrel, performing sets at The Fillmore and Austin City Limits. Lee, Brandon and Will rose to national attention backing Donald Fagen of Steely Dan, as "The Nightflyers" on his last national tour. Now, The Restless Age steps out as a unit of songwriters, singers and instrumentalists. Still Lookin' for a Good Way Out: https://youtu.be/5lmCMqT3ck8
Thursday 7:00 pm to 10:00 pm | NRBQ!, Terry Adams, Scott Ligon, Casey McDonough, John Perrin | The FALCON 1348 Route 9W Marlboro, NY See Map |
In their nearly 50-year history, NRBQ's records have been released by many record companies.Their song "Get That Gasoline Blues" (on Kama Sutra) reached No. 70 in 1974 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. NRBQ's music is a blend of styles from rockabilly to Beatles-influenced pop to Thelonious Monk-inspired jazz. They have attracted fans as diverse as Bob Dylan, Paul McCartney, Elvis Costello, Keith Richards, The Replacements, and Penn & Teller. NRBQ songs have been performed by Bonnie Raitt, Los Lobos, Dave Edmunds, and many others. The group served as the unofficial "house band" for The Simpsons for seasons 10-12, in which fan Mike Scully was head writer and executive producer. NRBQ has a following from years of live shows. The band has been known to perform without a set list, so fans never know what songs to expect. In addition to its own compositions, the band performs a broad range of cover material and audience requests. Get Rhythm: https://youtu.be/iR2pkd3paD0

Thursday 8:00 pm to 10:00 pm | Jeremy Baum Trio: Charlie "Baum" Christmas, Sue Williams / Acoustic Bass, Peter O'Brien / Drums | The FALCON 1348 Route 9W Marlboro, NY See Map |
A tribute to Vince Guaraldi's 1965 studio album, "A Charlie Brown Christmas" - considered one of the most beloved holiday albums recorded. The soundtrack introduced jazz with grace, charm, and creativity, to an entirely new generation, having been heard by more individuals than the work of the genre's most influential players, and influenced dozens of young aspiring musicians. Guaraldi showed how a piano, bass and drums capture a feeling and character in living color, particularly if those feelings are complex, conflicted or even simply too beautiful for words .....opening doors for later discoveries in Bill Evans, Thelonious Monk, Robert Glasper....to say nothing of all the other sounds and ensembles waiting to be heard with jazz at its pulse. - LA Times Falcon favorite Jeremy Baum plays the Hammond Organ, piano. Look out for his album "The Eel", featuring funky, bluesy compositions as well as original arrangements of songs. Christmas Dance: https://youtu.be/s1LUXQWzCno
