At The Falcon on June 28th, the NYSM All-Stars and Jazz Band are celebrating the completion of another school year and the success of their colleagues, as three band members are graduating high school and have been accepted in to music programs at Berkeley College of Music and SUNY Fredonia.

The two greatest rock ‘n’ roll bands of all time face off as the Paramount Theater hosts the nationally touring show, Beatles Vs. Stones- A Musical Showdown. Taking the side of the Fab Four is Abbey Road, one of the country’s top Beatles tribute bands. With brilliant musicianship and authentic costumes and gear, Abbey Road plays beloved songs spanning the Beatles’ career. They engage in a musical “showdown” of the hits against premier Stones tribute band Satisfaction- The International Rolling Stones Show, who offer a faithful rendition of the music and style of Mick Jagger, Keith Richards and the bad boys of the British Invasion. Chris Walsh is one of the original members of the local band Thunder Ridge. He has pre-recorded his own back up vocals, as well as bass, guitar, drums, and various other instruments, into a remarkable presentation of old, new and original songs. Selections range from The Beatles, James Taylor, BTO, to early classics from Buddy Holly,and The Everly Brothers. Jessi Mason is a singer/songwriter whose songs are honest and intimate, her voice sweet and soulful. Jessi started playing guitar when she was nine years old and began writing original music shortly after. Writing for her is, "a way to express something that [she'd] otherwise be afraid to say out loud." Mason hopes that the qualities of artists who've influenced her -- Paul Simon, Joni Mitchell, Stevie Wonder, Corinne Bailey Rae and Emily King -- pour out of her music and performances.

Westchester has a new place for music fans and performers to call home. The Heights in South Salem, opened in February, is filling a long overdue void in the heart of Westchester, and bringing in familiar faces that haven’t been in town for a while. The late 90’s in Westchester had a buzzing music scene, especially the coffeehouse circuit where a lot of local talent honed their craft, among them The Slambovian Circus of Dreams. Voted ’Best Band’ several times by Hudson Valley Magazine, the Slambovians pioneered the now massive Americana genre while staying on the fringes of the music industry - creating the Slambovian Nation of fans here and abroad. The songs themselves appeal to a greater human-ness, sometimes empowering - at times darkly haunting, but always engaging with the wry wit of lead singer Longo at the helm. Elements of Dylan, Bowie, Neil Young, Leonard Cohen, Incredible String Band, Waterboys, and the Decemberists are all part of the musical mix. When asked to play the new

Artist-in-Residence Jason Vieaux teams with former Ernst Stiefel Quartet-in-Residence, the Escher Quartet, for an exceptional evening of chamber music. Vieaux performs Ginastera’s only original composition for guitar, while the Escher String Quartet finds the historical through-line connecting the seemingly disparate quartets of Haydn and Shostakovich. Vieaux joins the quartet for the Boccherini Quintet, which they recorded as part of the Music@Menlo: Bridging the Ages album series.
We're back at one of our favorite venues. The Chain Gang will perform a mix of classic rock and pop (60's through 80s) at this very popular establishment. Billy Joel, The Beatles, The Eagles, BS&T, and tons more. The gang at La Puerta Azul are great hosts. Come in for dinner, or just a drink.

The Great American Weekend has become a focal point of the Summer Season in Goshen and has drawn crowds from near and far. In addition to being a weekend filled with fun for all ages, this community event has sponsored many amazing programs that benefit the entire community in many ways. Revenues generated by vendors have culminated in Scholarships, grants and programs which serve the Greater Goshen area.

This patriotic evening properly ends with a bang—in the sky and on the ground—with fireworks and Tchaikovsky’s 1812 Overture.

Each of the members of Lines of Reason have had illustrious carreers, performing as band leaders as well as playing with such greats as Sonny Fortune, McCoy Tyner, Hannibal, Marvin Peterson, and Clark Terry. These five friends now come into their own, with this exciting and creative collaboration, where each player has equal input.

Join us at the beautiful Rip Van Winkle Golf Course in Palenville for this all day, all fun musical event. The B-Boyz kick it off from 2 to 5, Mike the DJ will be playing music between sets, and the Cagneys wrap up the music from 6 to 9,then the amazing fireworks display. The event is free and there will be food available. Bring a blanket or your lawn chairs, your family and friends. Donations will go to local families in financial distress.
