Marc is able to create amazing amounts of sound and diversity through his voice and one faithful guitar. His chops are wide-ranging, from delicate finger picking to rambunctious Pete Townsend-type strumming.  From Summer Stage in Central Park to SOB's, multi-talented Afro-Cuban musician, radio host, and Latin Jazz USA lifetime achievement awardee Chico Alvarez and renowned flutist Mauricio Smith will grace the stage with their latin dance band, Ran Kan Kan!
Ernesto "Chico" Alvarez Peraza was born in Brooklyn, grew up in Cuba, has performed as a singer throughout the New York tri-state area for the last four decades; and has directed several bands and orchestras including his 10-piece conjunto, Mafímba. He is also the radio host of the New World Gallery, which airs on Sunday afternoons on WBAI Pacifica Radio (99.5 FM).
Mauricio Smith, Jr. was born in Panama and resides in NYC. At age 15 he was already a sensational flutist. He studied music at the National Conservatory of Panama, and with such great musicians/composers as Eduardo Charpentier, Roberto Pitre, Mauricio Smith Sr., among others. Mauricio is also a member of the Charanga band Tipica Novel.

Jeremy’s style is informed by the current masters of the groove from the jam-band scene (Medeski, Martin, and Wood, Soul-Live, Derek Trucks Band.) He’s been playing festivals and jazz clubs in the New England region since the release of his first album. JB’s Band was also featured on Boogaloo to McDuff, a tribute to Jack McDuff, available on Scufflin’ Records. Back in the studio for his sophomore release, The Eel, on Flying Yak Records, Jeremy Baum knocks it out of the park with 10 Hammond organ and piano driven arrangements. It's an album of funky, bluesy new compositions as well as original arrangements of songs by Beck, Prince, James Brown and more. |

Elly Wininger has been called everything from a 'folk-blues legend’ to a 'musical explosion.’ Getting her start in the folk revival scene of the 60’s & 70’s, Elly was a guitar student of David Bromberg. She is an award-winning songwriter and has been writing songs and picking guitar in clubs, coffeehouses and concert halls, while producing and hosting radio shows,
Dave Kearney was the primary songwriter, and his songs have been recorded by Del McCoury and other Nashville artists Says Kearney, "I like to create a connection between the audience and the performer, so that we don’t feel so isolated."

 Wali Ali unites the intimacy of folk music with the improvisation of jazz and the irresistible rhythms of R&B, and he invites the listener to explore new interpretations of contemporary melodies.
Wali has played guitar with various musical artists including Taj Mahal, Norman Connors, Donny Hathaway, Bobbi Humphrey, Melvin Van Peebles, Noel Pointer, Lonnie Liston Smith, Peter Tosh, and Stanley Turrentine. He has scored for television, and he was bandleader for the Broadway musical "Mule Bone". Wali is also the recipient of the ASCAP Songwriters Award.
