 Anne and John have been collaborating for some time now, and we're excited to host their debut performance!
Anne Carpenter is an amazing vocalist and gifted songwriter. One of Anne's early compositions, "Holland" was recorded by Sloan Wainwright. She frequently sings with the award-winning KJ Denhert and is a backup singer for the Soul/R&B band, Steve Wexler & the Top Shelf. Anne has performed at such prestigious venues as The Cutting Room, 55 Bar and of course 12 Grapes, with JP Patrick, Electric Beef and many others.
John Pondel is a guitarist and composer who has a love for Jazz and improvised music. He's recorded/ toured with such legends as Al Jarreau, Barry Manilow, Aretha Franklin and Stevie Wonder, to name just a few. In 2004 he played rhythm guitar on Geroge Benson's Grammy nominated song, "Take You Out".
Anne & John will premier a number of their original songs, and sing some classic Jazz and Pop covers. Help us welcome this talented duo to our stage.

 Maria Muldaur is known worldwide for her Grammy nominated 1974 mega-hit “Midnight at the Oasis."
During the folk revival of the '60s, Maria explored and sang early Blues, Bluegrass and Appalachian “Old Timey” Music. In the years since “Oasis,” Maria has toured worldwide and recorded 40 solo albums, covering all avenues of American Roots Music, settling comfortably into her favorite idiom, the Blues.
"First Came Memphis Minnie" (2012), her critically acclaimed 40th album, is a loving tribute to the pioneering woman who influenced the female Blues artists following in her footsteps, many of whom are heard on this project: Bonnie Raitt, Phoebe Snow, Ruthie Foster, Koko Taylor and Rory Block accompanied by the guitars of Del Rey, David Bromberg, Alvin Youngblood Hart and Roy Rogers.
2014 marked 40 years, and 40 albums, since “Midnight at the Oasis”.

Winard Harper has performed with some of the greatest names in jazz. At 20, he was playing the drums first with Dexter Gordon, and then Johnny Griffin, and honed his chops for the next four years under the tutelage of the late, great Betty Carter.
With his brother Philip Harper on trumpet, Winard led The Harper Brothers, one of the hottest groups of the post-bop era and produced the chart topping Remembrance: Live at the Village Vanguard.
Winard has released four CD's to his credit: Be Yourself (1994), Trap Dancer (1998), Winard (1999), and Faith with Carrie Smith (2000). He is one of the most sough-after sidemen on the jazz circuit; has been exploring African rhythms that influence his work, and is noted for his abilities on the cymbals, which under his hand become an outstanding solo instrument all their own.

 Don Hahn has been an iconic member of the New York jazz scene for the last 40 years. After leaving the Maynard Ferguson Band in 1974-75, he led the Columbia University stage band from 1977-86. Since then, he has consistently led his various groups around the New York metropolitan area at staple venues such as Fat Cat and Alor Café. Don will be celebrating 50 years of performing this year and celebrating his 70th birthday. He shows no signs of slowing down.

 Girls On Top is a NYC-based band of 6 women and one lucky drummer boy who belt out the songs you love from the 60's, 70's, 80's and today. With three powerhouse lead singers, the band covers Rock and Motown to Country, R&B and Blues.
Girls On Top has played over 300 shows, including the NYC Marathon, the More Marathon in Central Park, and The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Light The Night walk, as well as the Mermaid Festival in Coney Island and The Atlantic Antic in Brooklyn.

 Born in Paris, and now an American citizen, self-taught Jean-Michel Pilc has performed with Roy Haynes, Michael Brecker, Dave Liebman, Jean Toussaint, Rick Margitza, Martial Solal, Michel Portal, Daniel Humair, Marcus Miller, Kenny Garrett, Lenny White, Chris Potter, John Abercrombie, Mingus Dynasty & Big Band, Lew Soloff and Richard Bona. Pilc has also worked with Harry Belafonte, as his musical director and pianist.
In 2015, Jean-Michel has released "What Is This Thing Called?", his third solo album and first release for Sunnyside Records. Jean-Michel is also a virtuoso whistler (as documented on a solo piano & whistle track in the CD “Christmas from the Blue Note” released in 2010 on the "Half Note" label).

 Collaborative forces come together to bring back to the Towne Crier stage the "Can You Hear Me Now" Project. Created by world-class percussionist and producer Jeff Haynes and featuring the original material of Beacon's own Jacob Bernz, the evening promises to be a barrier-breaking night of music taking from all corners of the musical spectrum including jazz, folk, blues, Celtic and many others. The performance will bring some of the Hudson Valley's most coveted musicians together for a night of open and creative music.
Jacob Bernz is a Beacon-raised Hudson Valley songwriter who began writing at an early age inspired by music of the NYC folk boom, by modern acoustic artists and by mentor Pete Seeger.
