This world-class 18-piece Big Band features a full horn section with 5 sax's, 4 trombones, 4 trumpets, and the inimitable talents of drummer and bandleader Greg Westhoff. The band performs classic Swing music, Sinatra, Broadway selections and songs from the '40's, '50's and more.
Greg Westhoff has performed on the Tonight Show and is the orchestra drummer for "Family Guy". Greg also performed with Walter Murphy and the Big Apple Band on the popular disco-era hit " A Fifth of Beethoven". Members of the Swing Band are all professional musicians who've performed in Broadway pits and with numerous industry greats.

| A native of Brooklyn NY Sal has been living in Middletown since 1995. A musician and actor in local venues since for over 40 years he retired from Verizon in 2010 where he worked as a field technician.In 1981 as a member of Sonseed, a local Gospel band, he wrote the ska influenced "Jesus Is A Friend Of Mine". In 2009 a 1982 TV appearance of Sonseed performing the song appeared on YouTube, getting (so far) 9 million hits and inspiring countless karaoke copies and variations. In November 2014 Sal was invited to perform the song at a Ska/Raggae Festival in England. The song has also been recorded by several Christian bands, recorded in German and was featured on several TV shows including GLEE. He still plays guitar and bass and sings in several local rock bands and appears in local stage productions. His wife Donna is a local actress and director and his children, Joseph and Christina, both want to be actors. Go figure... |

This year there isn't one potential hit he can develop and bring to Broadway -- there are a whole bunch. And that's where the audience gets to help.
Spontaneous Broadway is an improvised Broadway "backers audition." Here's how it works:
Act 1
Audience members suggest song titles and Mop & Bucket improvisers use those suggestions to create numbers from musicals that have not yet been written. The audience votes on their favorite number.
Act 2
MopCo improvisors turn the chosen number into a full musical, complete with costumes, sets, props, dances, and a reprise of the made up first act musical number that inspired the show.
It's a great time for anyone who loves a Broadway show tune.

Led by drummer Greg Westhoff and our very own crooner, Joe Carpentieri (The Westchester Swing Band), you can enjoy classic songs from Francis Albert Sinatra and post-war crooners of the 40's and 50's like Dean Martin, Bing Crosby and Nat King Cole. The band also features John Carriddi on guitar, Dan Denerstein on keyboard, and Ken Zaback on sax/flute.

Diamond Xell Design and Development Corp. are presenting the first annual Thunder Run for disabled veterans this Saturday Oct. 24 at Dogwood Knolls Golf Course, Rt 376, Hopewell Junction. Rain date set for Sunday, Oct. 25.
Motorcycle and car enthusiasts are needed to make this event successful, with the sole purpose of the event to raise money for a local veteran chosen as the year’s recipient. The 40 mile route starts and ends at Dogwood, and all vehicles participating will travel through Pleasant Valley, Lagrange, Poughkeepsie, Wapp. Falls, Fishkill and Hopewell Jct.
Vehicles should plan to arrive by 10:30, with the run starting at noon. Veterans, Army National Guard, and military recruiters from the local are will be at the event. Live music, raffles, food and beverage will be available for purchase at Dogwood. Get out and support this great cause this weekend!

 New York's own Kim Clarke performs on the Acoustic Bass, Electric Upright and four and five-stringed Electric Bass Guitar. In her 22-year tour affiliation with trombonist Joseph Bowie and his avant-jazz funk unit Defunkt, Kim wowed audiences from Iceland to Istanbul. Internationally she is noted as "at home in the Ron Carter School of HardBop" and "a dynamic Woman in Jazz."
In 1988, Rob Scheps formed Core-tet and Bartokking Heads, and established himself as a formidable force on the jazz scene. A member of the Mannes College of Music Faculty, Rob also has been a workshop clinician at Bowdoin, Dartmouth, and Hunter among others.
Kim and Rob will be joined by Bryan Carott on vibraphone and special guest on drums.

Suzzy Roche is a founding member of acclaimed singing group The Roches, originally from Park Ridge. In addition to recording numerous albums with The Roches, Suzzy has recorded two solo albums, a collection of musical prayers, Zero Church (with Maggie Roche), and written two books.
Lucy (daughter of Loudon Wainwright, brother of Rufus & Martha) is known for her crystal clear voice, humorous stage presence and insightful, melodic songwriting. GA3 will be playing some classic Soul / Blues / Rockin' Funk to keep you movin on the dance floor. The band features Glenn Alexander (guitar, vocals), Tom "Goose" Seguso (drums/vocals), Chris Anderson (trumpet) Steve Count (bass/vocals), Rob Susman (trombone) and Tony Orbach (sax).
Glenn, Tom and Chris are members of "Southside Johnny & the Asbury Jukes", and all these fine musicians have performed or opened for many industry greats such as Levon Helm, Elvis Costello, Mark Cohn, Sam Moore, Wilson Picket... the list goes on and on.
As Glenn says of the band, "Once this freight rain gets rollin' there ain't no stopping' us!"

Peekskill's own Steve Chizmadia joins us the 3rd Wednesday each month. Steve's original, "Song for Pete" was was a winner of the South Florida Folk Festival songwriting competition, which he wrote for his idol, Pete Seeger. Steve is also a 3-time Kerrville New Folk Finalist and has won many other notable awards including Noel Paul Stookey's "Music To Life" (Grand Prize) and Woody Guthrie Festival (3rd place).
