Jazz trumpeter Greg Glassman returns to his High Falls roots to close out this season of the High Falls Café's "Jazz At The Falls" Sunday brunch series High Falls native Greg Glassman is one of New York City’s most recognizable jazz trumpeters. He's shared the stage and recording studio with some of the greatest voices in jazz, including Clark Terry, Marcus Belgrave, Roswell Rudd, Sheila Jordan, Oliver Lake, Sherman Irby, & John Esposito. Mr. Glassman’s current focus is his dynamic quintet, co-led with saxophonist, Stacy Dillard, featuring some of NYC’s most creative and accomplished jazz stars. Reuben Wilson was one of few soul-jazz organists to emerge in the late '60s, and to be signed to Blue Note. He recorded five sessions for the label, which were later rediscovered by a new generation of soul-jazz fans, becoming collector's items within acid jazz and soul-jazz revivalist circles.New York bred saxophonist, composer, arranger and educator, Ray Blue, performs internationally, and has shared the stage with Eddie Henderson, Wycliff Gordon, Bernard Purdie, The Sun Ra Arkestra, Cotton Club All Stars and many others. We all know that Jazz is very much alive in NYC. Tonight, Kristina Koller and her band prove that Peekskill is very much alive with it as well.With her unique timbre and contemporary style, Jazz vocalist Kristina Koller brings a fresh interpretation of the Jazz idiom. Her range and vocal dynamics provide a strong foundation to musically explore and experiment. At just 20 years old, the Westchester native is establishing herself as an important new voice in the NYC Jazz scene. Joining Kristina will be Benny Benack III (trumpet & vocals), Kelly Green (piano), Adi Meyerson (bass) and Joe Peri (drums). These terrific young musicians have already played at top NYC jazz clubs such as Dizzy's, Smalls, Minton's, Smoke and Mezzrow. If you like art-rock with elegant, baroque-tinged melodies, hypnotic rhythms and out-of-this-world gorgeous, dynamic vocals, Kristin Hoffmann is playing an intimate show at Unison Arts Center on June 6th at 8pm. Hoffman will be joined by mulit-instrumentalist Premik Russell Tubbs and special guest Seth Davis, owner of Karma Road in New Paltz.
Kristin Hoffmann is a Juilliard trained musician whose career reads like a lifetime achievement award speech. In addition to her sweeping and intense work as a solo artist, she is the singer in NASA's Bella Gaia multimedia extravaganza with whom she tours the world. She is also in demand in the contemporary classical world.
Premik Russell Tubbs is a composer, arranger, producer and accomplished musician who has shared the stage with Carlos Santana, Herbie Hancock, Whitney Houston and many more notable artists.
