![]() ![]() Tuesday 7:30 pm to 10:00 pm | An EP Release Party! - Special TUESDAY Performance with Jessi Mason, celebrating "Hollow" Singer-Songwriter, Acoustic | 12 Grapes Music & Wine Bar 12 North Division Street Peekskill, NY See Map |
![]() Inspired by artists such as Joni Mitchell & Norah Jones, Jessi has created folk-influenced songs that convey compelling stories of "serendipitous adventures and hopeless romanticism". Jessi finds particular importance in lyrics and their ability to connect something as intimate as an emotion or idea to her audience. Her original songs are pure poetry, and her vocals and guitar work belie her age. At just 17, Jessi has a soul of a seasoned artist. We fell in love with Jessi at a 12 Grapes Open Mic, and she's become part of our family. Jessi has performed at venues throughout Westchester, at Rockwell's with Lagond Songwriter Sessions, NYC's Bitter End and Peekskill's Summer Block Party series. Jessi will be joined tonight by Anne Carpenter (backing vocals), Tyler Cottrell (cello) and other special guests. **Free Admission** Listen on youtube

![]() Sunday 9:00 pm to 10:00 pm | A Fistful of Sugar Folk/Traditional, Bluegrass, and Jazz | Hootenanny Cafe Mini Concerts Online: www.wtbq.com or 93.5FM, NY See Map |
A collaboration between veterans of the Philadelphia folk, trip-hop, bluegrass, R&B, and musical theater scenes, A Fistful of Sugar was convened in late 2010 to solve all the world's problems with pretty little tunes. So far, so good. Centered around strong, lush vocal harmonies and driving "new folk" instrumentals, the product is a distinctly modern sound that resonates with echoes of 1930s hot jazz, traditional 'old-timey' country, gypsy jazz, and other roots musics. With six vocalists and distinctly bluegrassy instrumentation, A Fistful of Sugar has wowed audiences across the Northeast with their powerful, genre-bending, energetic performances that range from the syrupy-sweet to the gritty and swampy. AFOS completed their self-titled demo in August 2012 and independently released their first full-length studio album, Perspicacity in January 2014. They were selected by the PFS jury to perform on the main stage at the 53rd Annual Philadelphia Folk Festival.
