 Veteran musicians Joe Gil (trombone), Neil Alexander (organ and keyboards) and Jason Furman (drums) have put together a new group called the "Thunderhead Organ Trio". The group is taking the concept of the organ trio in a new and different direction, drawing on many different influences and styles.
The group explores the grittier, rockier side of the genre referencing groups like the original Tony Williams Lifetime and mines the jazz standard repertoire for obscure gems and deep cuts.
The group will be playing original tunes, jazz standards, lost classics and rare gems.

 Marshall Crenshaw received his first big break playing John Lennon in the off-Broadway company of Beatlemania. In 1987, he played Buddy Holly in the Richie Valens biopic “La Bamba.” While living in NYC, he recorded the single “Something’s Gonna Happen” for Alan Betrock’s Shake Records, which led to a deal with Warner Bros.
His debut album, Marshall Crenshaw, was acclaimed as a pop masterpiece upon its release in 1982 and established him as a first-rate songwriter, singer and guitarist. The record spawned the Top 40 single “Someday, Someway,” which rockabilly singer Robert Gordon covered and scored a hit with a year earlier.

 Native New Yorkers, John and Lindsey, began writing music together in 2008 and dubbed themselves “Skeye.” They embarked on two projects: an endeavor they called “Room Experiments,” and writing original music for their first record. “Room Experiments” involved traveling with recording gear and instruments to indoor and outdoor locations, making videos of musical performances in these spaces. In each location, they experimented with acoustics, ambience, and the space’s general response to sound. Skeye built a collection of these live recordings on Youtube, and gained the attention of a large international following. Skeye has released three albums and is currently producing an EP.

 Mark Guiliana is an acclaimed drummer, composer, educator, producer and founder of Beat Music Productions; through which, he released both My Life Starts Now and Beat Music: The Los Angeles Improvisations as a bandleader earlier this year.

 Hudson Valley singer/songwriter Willa McCarthy has been an active performer in the Hudson Valley for more than a decade, most notably as a member of The Chris O'Leary Band.
She met acclaimed and award-winning singer/harp player Chris O’Leary a few years before he became the lead singer for Levon Helm's Barn Burners. When O’Leary launched his own band in 2008 and invited her to join, she jumped at the chance. Of McCarthy, O'Leary has said, "she's my favorite person in the world to sing with."
McCarthy’s vocals are powerful and soulful and her band plays a mix of blues, funk, R&B and rock—including original and cover material—and features Pete Hop on guitar, Scott Milici on keys, Doug Abramson on bass and Jerry Teters on drums. |

 Time once again for our monthly presentation of Greg Westhoff's Westchester Swing Band! This world-class 18-piece Big Band features a full horn section with 5 sax's, 4 trombones, 4 trumpets, and the inimitable talents of drummer and bandleader Greg Westhoff. The band performs classic Swing music, Sinatra, Broadway selections and songs from the '40's, '50's and more.
Greg Westhoff has performed on the Tonight Show and is the orchestra drummer for "Family Guy". Greg also performed with Walter Murphy and the Big Apple Band on the popular disco-era hit " A Fifth of Beethoven". Members of the Swing Band are all professional musicians who've performed in Broadway pits and with numerous industry greats.

 Flying Cat Music ends its 2014 concert year with a gala celebration and benefit concert to help defray costs of the ongoing concert series held at the Empire State Railway Museum in Phoenicia.
For those fond of festive socializing, the concert will be preceded by a potluck dinner at 6:00 p.m. Admission to the concert portion of the evening begins at 7:00 p.m.
After a sterling year of shows that brought an outstanding lineup of national and international acts to the Phoenicia train station, Sunday's event celebrates the Mid-Hudson Valley music community with performances by the talented musicians who each month make it possible for Flying Cat Music to produce the concert series, and there is no more fitting way to ring out the concert year than to have them take center stage.

 Jason Casterlin has given the music-loving world Old Stone Church, a hooked laden collection of 11 songs that runs the gamut from windows-down Americana rock to Sun Studios-era country.
Jason’s band, The Tall Boys, are a throwback to the heyday of Yoakam’s Babylonian Cowboys – a 5-piece outfit that can make you holler or make you weep from one track to the next. Guitars, pedal steel, keys, drums and bass complement Jason’s lyrics and voice the way a hand-picked band should.
Jason has been a mainstay on the Hudson Valley live music scene for over decade – first in one of the region’s most beloved cover bands, Maria’s Basement, and then as a founding member of the alt-country band, The Woodcocks.
With his solo career, Jason has shared the stage with James Otto, Jimmy Wayne, Easton Corbin, Billy Currington, Blackberry Smoke and Ryan Bingham, among others. |

 Michael Torsone has refined the smooth, cool sound of jazz generated by the world-renowned Hammond B3 organ. His powerful voice with this vintage instrument creates a natural groove that cannot be replicated by modern, electronic keyboards.
It was in the “The Matt Jordan Band” that he made his debut as a vocalist and he hasn’t stopped singing since.
Torsone's early musical influences dominate his performances - Ray Charles, Felix Cavaliere and The Rascals, Vanilla Fudge, B.B. | Ex-Rockapella star Sean Altman's unkosher comedy song concert JEWMONGOUS is "tuneful and sharply witty" (Los Angeles Times), "relentlessly clever" (Chicago Tribune) and "bawdy with a wicked modern streak" (Washington Post), combining "the tunefulness of the Beatles and the spot-on wit of Tom Lehrer" (Boston Globe). Altman is a former, founding member of Rockapella and led that pioneering vocal group through its heyday years on the Emmy-winning PBS-TV series, Where In The World Is Carmen Sandiego?, for which Altman co-wrote the famous theme song. His classic Passover song "They Tried To Kill Us (We Survived, Let's Eat)" has been featured on NPR's Fresh Air with Terry Gross.
