![]() Sunday 9:00 pm to 10:00 pm | Shawn Taylor Folk/Traditional, Blues, and Americana | Hootenanny Cafe Mini Concerts Online: www.wtbq.com or 93.5FM, NY See Map |
With a thumping thumb, dancing fingers, deep gritty soul stirring vocals, wailing harp and poetic blue-collar lyrics, Taylor oozes American roots. He draws comparisons to Tom Waites, Chris Smither, Bruce Springsteen, Bob Dylan, and Ray Lamontagne, while his lyrics are colored by his own working class wandering roots. He's been an oysterman, carpenter, hitchhiker, homeowner, father, 'thru-hiker' (Appalachian Trail, Long Trail & John Muir Trail) and musician. He plays venues from New England to Nashville and his latest release “Home,” spins on folk radio worldwide. He is currently spearheading the SandyHookSongsForHope.org CD fundraiser project. "Shawn is a master balladeer & troubadour,” says Remo Ricaldone of American Roots Radio, Italy. “Taylor has mellowness to his voice that works well against the frenetic flash of finger-picking that is the foundation of his songs… It is Americana stripped of its outer skin.” – The Alternateroute.com | ||
