Songwriter Rob Morsberger has met his recent diagnosis of terminal cancer with a relentless drive towards making as much music as time allows.

On 2/15, Rob will release a 22-song double-CD, 'Early Work 1986-1995', a surprising, eclectic overview of Morsberger's search for his ''voice' as a literate songwriter; guest singers include Loudon Wainwright III, Marshall Crenshaw, and Suzzy Roche. The double CD reveals the early work of a uniquely talented man, as he navigates a decade of his life and his art.

For this concert, Rob will be joined by Suzzy Roche, a founding member of the singing group The Roches. For over thirty-five years she's performed throughout the US and Europe and made over twenty recordings. She has just completed a new collection of songs with her daughter, Lucy Wainwright Roche, called Fairytale and Myth which features Rob Morsberger on piano, and includes a cover of his brilliant song Everyone Wants To Be Loved.

What is a "Showcase"? Bob Dylan, Joni Mitchell, Joan Baez, Neil Young – even the greatest talents started somewhere. Sometimes it was at an open mic. And when they got good enough, they were invited to perform in a showcase with a few other talented artists. Our showcases, held on many Sunday nights, feature the best of local and regional talents. Yes, they are unknowns – for now. But they're good. For some, it's a launch pad to a great career. Somewhere, there are people who can say, "I saw Bob Dylan when he was just a kid starting out." Tonight, we're featuring singer-songwriters Jarred Wientraub, Lily Arnell and Eric Feldhausen.

"There's freedom in knowing that you don't have to know it all," says Mary Gauthier, "which is why to me, a song should end with a question, not an answer." It might seem that after six groundbreaking albums of original songs, more than a dozen years of recording and touring around the world, a harvest of music industry awards, and covers of her songs by a roster of great artists – that Mary Gauthier ("go-SHAY") should have a handle on some of the big answers. Yet with each new album, with each new cycle of songs that illuminate her soul, with each old and new set of characters and life changes she introduces, Mary is always ending up with more questions. It is said that the master songwriters – the "truth tellers," as Mary refers to them – always put a piece of themselves into every song and first shined light on the truth and lies of her world before she began to put pen to paper herself. It's up to the listener to imagine what is real and what is a dream.

Open Mic with featured performers The Ice Jammers. About two years ago a small group of seasoned and novice musicians decided to hold some jam sessions; eight more musicians later they had evolved into the Ice Jammers. The "Jammers" perform an eclectic mix of folk, blues, bluegrass and old-time string band music—singing harmony and playing an assortment of guitars, fiddle, mandolins, banjo, mountain dulcimers, a washboard and a Cajun accordion. Members of the group are from up and down the Hudson Valley: Tim Denman, Roger Flaum, Anne Gayler, John Gebhards, Diana Krautter, Diane Newlander, Peter Segal, Peter Voletsky, and Frank Tetler. Coffeehouse admission is $6 ($5 for Folk Guild members and seniors)

David Buskin & Robin Batteau bring their “irresistible amalgam of melodic, sensual pop, folkie grit and killer wit” (The Washington Post) to The Acoustic Café Music Series in Park Ridge, NJ on Saturday, March 9th. Special guests The Copper Ponies.

Accompanied by percussionist Marshal Rosenberg, B&B will perform favorites from their eclectic repertoire, ranging from the classically-oriented pyrotechnics of Batteau’s “Boy With the Violin” to the ethnically incorrect silliness of Buskin’s “Jews Don’t Camp.” They will also be playing selections from their newest CD, Love Remembered/ Love Forgot, which features guest appearances by Tom Rush and Jonatha Brooke, among others. The CD debuted at #5 on the national folk charts and continues to enjoy significant airplay worldwide.

In early 2011 former Dead Or Alive vocalist Dave Falkenmeyer and Guitarist Tom Rhein composed the acoustic duo Twisted Steele. The band became a trio in June 2012 when Jack Sheppard was added to the band after the band wanted to expand their sound. Seeking a change from drumming in classic rock bands for thirty years Jack auditioned and took Twisted Steele to another level with incredible precision and impeccable timing. Dave is no stranger to the music scene as he fronted many bands in his twenty five year career moving crowds with his wide vocal range and crowd interaction makes his performances unforgettable. Tom has toured for many years in his 30 years of experience. He started touring with southern rock bands in Georgia at the age of eighteen and continues to play through today but on a smaller scale. Tom and Dave met in the band Backlash a well known rock cover band from Orange County NY. They rocked the local area for well over five years until their demise in late 2007.

Willy played bass for Steve Ferguson (NRBQ's original guitarist) and with Rick Danko, and he opened many shows throughout the Northeast for Levon Helm, The J Giles Band, Roomful of Blues, The Band and NRBQ. Buried in Blue is one of the BEST party bands in the county... lead guitarist Tom Dowd is known for his lightning-fast guitar work, clear, soaring vocals and fresh, compelling arrangements that span Rock, Blues, R&B and Pop classics. The band features the inimitable Tom Dowd on vocals and lead guitar (and this man can PLAY guitar!), Jaynie "Blonde Thunder" D'Agostino on percussion, Pete McGregor on drums, Barry "Buzzy" Garriola on bass and Kevin McSweeney rhythm guitar, who provides the unshakable and perfectly-chosen solos that make each song a new classic. As one reviewer writes: "If you want to catch an incredible live performance of Classic Rock, Pop and Blues with pitch-perfect vocals, powerful drums, and some hot Hendrix-style guitar, see these guys soon....Buried in Blue is buried in talent."

DInner reservations highly recommended as this band packs the house (and the dance floor!)
