I'm an acoustic singer-songwriter, most akin to such left of center songwriters like Nick Drake and Townes Van Zandt; pretty melodies over intricate finger picking. I've been performing live in venues of various sizes for many years, both as a solo musician, and as half of the acoustic duo Palatypus (with M.R.).

Larry Kolker's songs emerge from American roots music but have a postmodern edge. Crossing folk, blues, pop, rock, soul, and jam-band, harmonized by his distinctive voice, his music has been called "urban country east-coast white-boy blues". A versatile guitar player and in demand on the blues harp, Larry has performed throughout the Northeast, the 2012 Montauk Music Festival, the Millennium Music Conference in Harrisburg, and the Bob Dylan Festival at the Warwick Valley Winery. He is active in the Tribes Hill musical community.

Larry's new 10-song CD, Awful Smart Man, was released in July 2012. He and Fred Gillen Jr. co-produced the album at Woody's House studio; it includes performances by pop folk trio the YaYas. The album reflects a journey of love, agony, discovery, acceptance and joy. It is receiving regular play on WIOX 91.3 FM.

BeanRunner Cafe

Peekskill, NY   See Map
Conjunto Sazon was inspired by the music of Cuba and Puerto Rico. The band, a small conjunto with a huge sound, identifies with the rhythms and melodies of the Caribbean; Salsa, Son, Rumba, Bomba, Plena, as well as Merengue. The veteran musicians of this conjunto, to their credit, have performed and recorded with world renowned artists such as Celia Cruz, Pete "El Conde" Rodriquez, Eddie Palmieri, Monguito "el unico", los Kimbos, and the New Swing Sextet to name a few. This conjunto creates a traditional/modern energetic sound by placing the interlocking rhythmic figures of percussion and Cuban Tres under a smoothly swinging melody to create a ".... new sound Conjunto Sazon.”

Called the empress of the unexpected by NPR, singer-songwriter Susan Werner recently turned another corner in her multifaceted musical career with her vibrant 2011 album, Kicking the Beehive. It’s an 11-song collection of provocative, poignant, lyrical originals that are infused with the rustic roots of American folk, blues and country music. Produced by Rodney Crowell, recorded in Nashville and featuring such all-star guests as Vince Gill, Keb’ Mo’ and Paul Franklin, Kicking the Beehive is a personal project where Werner intuitively explores the full impact of looking beyond the superficial and delving into soulful honesty. Sharing the bill will be Boston-based folksinger Vance Gilbert. A favorite on the U.S. coffeehouse, club, and festival circuit, Vance is blessed with a far ranging, almost otherworldly tenor voice. He’s also an accomplished acoustic guitar player who incorporates elements of jazz, blues and country into his deft picking.

CD Release Party -- "My Plastic World"
with Steven Wright-Mark
Rock (progressive), Pop/Soft Rock
12 Grapes Music & Wine Bar
12 North Division Street
Peekskill, NY   See Map
Hailing from NYC, Steven Wright-Mark is a Top-10 artist on Reverbnation's NY Indie charts, and has played all over the world--from Manhattan to Moscow-- including the local Pleasantville Music Festival, where he opened for Rusted Root, Carney and Jakob Dylan.

"My Plastic World" is Steven Wright-Mark's third solo CD. It has just been released on Amplifrier Music and is already getting great critical response and radio airplay. His music is often considered "Power Pop", that is, hard-edged, guitar-driven music that's chock-full of hooky melodies, lush harmonies, and clever lyrics. Although Steven plays all the instruments and sings all the vocals on his self-produced recordings, he plays guitar and keyboards live, along with his band...Ed Cusati (Guitar/Vocals), Andy Kuusisto (Bass/Vocals), and Armand Minassian (Drums).

Join us as we welcome Steven to our 12 Grapes stage, and celebrate the release of his new CD.
