| The Poughkeepsie Chapter of the Hudson Valley Folk Guild kick off its 2012-2013
coffeehouse series on Saturday, September 15, 2012, at the Unitarian Fellowship, South
Randolph Ave., Poughkeepsie. The coffeehouse performances start at 7:30 pm with an
open mic format followed by the featured performer, Jane March.
Jane March is a singer-songwriter who hails from Poughkeepsie. She has gained acclaim for her original songs and has been one of several local area artists participating in “Summer Songs”, a week long festival of songwriters engaged in classes, seminars and
creative projects where the end product is a new song. Jane features a strong voice and accompanies herself on guitar. Many of her songs are topical and cover many of the contemporary issues of the day. Admission to the coffeehouse is $6, general admission and $5 for Folk Guild members and seniors.
