Hudson, NY and the surrounding towns have been home for singer/songwriter Marilyn Miller for most of her life, and her music often deals with the contradictions inherent in an area which is at once both very rural and very urban. You will find her most often encouraging others at an open mic, having an open jam at her country home, supporting a farmers' market or other cause, or busking on the streets of her hometown. It is no surprise that, given the diversity of her sounds, her favorite musician is Neil Young, a man well known to follow his muse wherever it takes him. His influence is very evident in the songs Marilyn writes, and in how she approaches the art of music. As a performer, Marilyn is most often compared to Patti Smith, no doubt due to the high energy she displays in presenting her work, and her dedication to always seeking the truth in the music. Her goal is to provide the listener with sounds that make a person move, think and feel, and she does deliver.

Slide guitarist and singer-songwriter Eric Sardinas has a reputation for packing intensity into his live performances. | As a (new) Senior at Warwick Valley High School, Ava Rae Heatley is an incredible singer songwriter. She has played at many different venues throughout Orange and Sussex County. She recently performed at Winslow Therapeutic Riding’s Annual Gala, was a main stage performer at Warwick Farm Aid, Warwick’s Music on the Green, Tri-State Theatre’s Spring Concerts, and Sussex Community College. In addition, she opened for local artists Emish and Jim Lord during the Vision Voices Concert Series. Ava’s musical genre is pop/rock and her influences are many. She loves the piano playing skill of Billy Joel, the rocking emotion of Elton John, the melodies of Sara Bareilles and the grooves of Foster The People.
Ava’s songs combine the storytelling of Taylor Swift, the sardonic wit of Ben Folds and the vocal dynamics of Nora Jones. She writes about the characters she meets in her life. Even though the names are changed, everyone wants to know who her songs are about. But she’s not telling. |

 Orlando Marin, a contemporary of such greats as Tito Puente, Machito, and Tito Rodriguez, is the only orchestra leader from New York’s golden era of mambo who still performs regularly.
Orlando formed his first band, Eddie Palmieri and his Orchestra and, since then, has played with several different bands and has performed in the famous Palladium Ballroom. In 1997, Latin music historiographer Max Salazar presented Orlando a plaque in recognition of nearly five decades of uninterrupted contribution to Latin music. In January 2003, Orlando was invited by Latin Jazz station, WPFW, by the Arlington County (Virginia) Cultural Arts Division, and by the Latin American Folk Institute to do a live concert in Washington at The Spectrum Theater and in 2006, Congressman Jose E. Serrano honored Orlando as “The Last Mambo King,” for his continuing to provide Latin American music and his willingness to devote time to helping the less fortunate.

Chris Dayton, Sean Morrison and Michael Kadnar are all SUNY New Paltz graduates with degrees in Jazz Studies. Guitarist Dayton is currently pursuing his Masters Degree in Jazz Performance at the Aaron Copland School of Music at CUNY/Queens College in New York City. Their music is heavily rooted in Jazz with a hot groove that mixes Blues, Funk and Fusion. They formed their guitar/organ/drums trio in the last few months and have been gigging all over the Hudson Valley ever since.  Myles is a 16 yr old, multi-instrumentalist prodigy playing a unique blend of Rockin' Rhythm & Soul. His performances include songs from Ray Charles, James Brown, Wilson Pickett, The Beatles, Jimi Hendrix, Johnny Cash, Myles' own Originals and many more. He's played at some of the top venues in New York City; BB Kings & the Iridum Jazz Club in Times Square, The Cutting Room, Tera Blues, The Red Lion, South Street Seaport, Madison Square Garden (Knick's Half-Time Show) and many others through-out the Tri State area. In a newspaper article about Myles, Sid Bernstein (who's best known as the man who brought the Beatles to America) was interviewed and said; "Myles is a young prodigy that will captivate and thrill an audience". It's that time of the month again, for the ever so popular Open Mic Night at Aroma Thyme Bistro. All are welcome to Open Mic nights. This has become a monthly tradition at Aroma Thyme for the past three years. We have seen some incredibly talented acts. We are constantly amazed from locals to people that travel up to an hour to perform. ...Of course we have our regulars, which we love. And there's always a new act of some sort to welcome each month.

...but the fun rolls on at The Blues Party:
This is A PRIVATE EVENT at the Bethel Woods Museum Events Gallery, at the original site of WOODSTOCK. In a beautiful large indoor concert space next to the Woodstock Museum. The Gravikord Duo make it to Woodstock again - Bob on Gravikord delay, and Pip on silver flute, world percussion, and on the sweet melancholy melodica will be entertaining the Bethel Woods volunteer workers for the fourth year at their annual in house end of season dinner and awards celebration. We'll be playing our own upbeat versions of the traditional, pop music and sprinkle in our own original "NewFolkChamberJazz" tunes into the mix. Have you been here? This is a great place where great concerts are still happening and we are honored to be part of this event celebrating the working volunteers who make all this possible!
