This is our inaugural concert for calendar year 2012. Joe Crookston is perhaps the best singer songwriter to come along in the past 20 years. Besides having a pleasant and sweet voice and possessing excellent instrumental ability, his songs are timely and relevant. I am sure that each and every individual can find something in his or her own life that is being described in a Joe Crookston song. Somehow you feel that he is talking directly to you when he is performing his own original compositions. Joe hails from Ithaca, NY. Opening the show will be the duo of Great Blue, (Steve Kaplan & Shirl Lawrence), from Yorktown Heights, NY who perform original as well as traditional material, in the Pete Seeger style. Admission is $20 per person ($15 for Borderline members) and we ask you to bring a cold pot luck dessert dish to share with 4 other people. We are an alcohol free venue. Bombastic but brilliant, this quartet from New England exude a genuine musical authenticity and mirth on stages up and down the East Coast. Drawing influences from contemporary urban balladeers, rowdy southern bluegrass, and the sardonic yet wry wit of New England's localized folk scenes, Pesky J. Nixon creates an atmosphere both inviting and challenging for audiences. Compelling harmonies and narratives rein in disparate instrumentation including- zydeco style accordion, virtuosic mandolin, a variety of tribal percussion, and a myriad of string instrumentation.

Peekskill, NY   See Map
Kati Mac's newest CD "Save Me From Myself" is a dark and moody blues rock tour de force. The title track, written with Nashville songwriter Rand Bishop (My List#1), sets the tone for this musical departure for Mac. Her smokey voice captures the emotional content and good time rockin' feel of the songs. The arrangements are classic yet unique. The songs are melodic and soulful.

The CD was recorded at Peaceful Waters Music in Bedford New York with master engineer Wayne Warnecke and co-produced with accomplished NYC arranger, composer, trumpeter Tim Ouimette.

The band includes: Drums: Kevin Hupp, Denny McDermott, Bass: Al Hemberger, Charlie Knicely, Keys: Jon Cobert, Guitars: Peter Calo, Van Manakis Horns: Tim Ouimette and Bill Harris.

"All of these guys played their butts off and are exceptional at their respective instruments" exclaims Mac. "I am very proud of the CD and hope everyone digs it." You’re gonna dig it.

with Diego Garcia
Singer-Songwriter
The Linda WAMC's Performing Arts Studio
339 Central Ave
Albany, NY   See Map
Born in Detroit to Argentine parents in the late 1970s, Diego Garcia immersed himself in the sounds of Iggy Pop and MC5 at an early age. Music carried him throughout his tenure until his cardiologist father moved the family back to Tampa, FL when Garcia was a young teenager, and by age 14 he got himself an acoustic guitar and started writing songs. As Garcia approached college life at Brown University in 1996, music was still calling him despite his course load in economics. During his junior year, Garcia realized he wanted a career in music instead. He left for New York City upon his 2000 graduation and began to look for musicians, eventually playing with the band Circus for a brief time. A year later, Garcia formed Elefant with bassist Jeff Berrall, guitarist Mod, and drummer Kevin McAdams.

In 2010 Diego Garcia pursued a solo career

Together for the first time, two of the area's most well-loved singers and band leaders.

Andrea Ekizian is "Andrea" of the Armenian Rug Riders, a lead singer who has talent and energy to burn. Andrea is known for her amazing renditions of some of the classic Rock tunes of all time.

Andrew Bordeaux (The Drew Bordeaux Group, Reservoir Pogs, The Track) is a singer/songwriter and an accomplished guitarist, violinist and performer. NY music reviewer Kevin Johnston wrote this about Drew: "His guitar work is the real deal... A lot of players have forgotten what the rock solo is for, but Drew knows and he uses it to take the music to a new level. And just to make sure you stay interested, he switches to electric violin."

We're excited to present these two talented musicians in their first-ever collaboration. They'll be performing Stones, Pretenders, Carly Simon, Sheryl Crow & more. This could be the start of something big.

Jim Paradis
Acoustic
Taste Budd's Chocolate and Coffee Cafe
40 West Market Street
Red Hook, NY   See Map
Jim Paradis has been playing in bands since he picked up his first bass guitar when he was 13. He's no stranger to all types of music and has played in bands of all styles from a progressive rock garage band to a down and dirty touring Rock and Roll band. Even in those early days he was often involved in original music but, in 1993, after a haitus from music, he got reacquainted with his muse by recording a song he had written for his family called "Juniper Knoll". "It was enough of a rush to want to keep on doing it" he says.

Since then Jim has written hundreds of songs, recorded 3 CD's with October Moon, 2 solo Cds, "You Are Here", an inspirational look at life, and, "Almost Home", a journey through several significant life changes and the ups and downs that inevitably accompany those changes. Not interested in waiting that long again between CD's, Jim is currently in the studio working on his next CD, "Not Finished Yet" due for a late Spring 2011 release.

Cafe Mezzaluna
626 Rte 212
Saugerties, NY   See Map
Arithmetically challenged from the start, Trio Mio is “the world’s only 4-1/2 piece trio.” Their original folk-rock repertoire features Fran Palmieri’s songs highlighting 19th century politicians and artists, modern love, Shakespeare’s timeless stories, or some other unique perspectives on life in our world.

Music has always taken the wheel for Kiriaki Bozas. Since the age of 8 she has been writing emotionally-moving songs imbued with romance and epic drama on the piano. “...songs that convey yearning, hope, mystery and contentment . But she also uses her lyrics to sling daggers, wander through self-deprecation and ponder her own insignificance.” John Barry, Poughkeepsie Journal

12 North Division Street
Peekskill, NY   See Map
"Get Your Wings" captures Aerosmith in their '70s-style heyday, when they were known as "America's answer to the Rolling Stones." Raw, ragged, swaggerin', scarf wearin', down-and-dirty epic Rock 'n Roll done as faithfully as humanly possible. Get Your Wings also recreates the sounds of Aerosmith's biggest hits from the past three decades, too. If you've got an Aerosmith jones, this is the band to see! Even though this band is just getting off the ground they are destined to become the greatest, most authentic, exciting Aerosmith tribute band "on the planet".

The band features Zed (Steven Tyler) Styler, Pepe (Joe Perry) Aquilino, Jose (Tom Hamilton) Jones, Otto (Brad Whitford) Wino, Jeff (Joey Kramer) Hollywood.
