Two Legends, ACOUSTIC BLUES AT IT'S FINEST!! Don't miss it!

“Stefan Grossman has done just about everything one can do in the field of music. He has been..., a performer, a recording artist, a record company founder, a video producer,... a teacher, and a music historian. But it is his success in illuminating country blues, ragtime, and fingerstyle guitar techniques that has made him, in the words of Dave Van Ronk, ‘one of the most important people in fingerpicking guitar in the history of the phenomenon.’” – Acoustic Guitar

Steve Katz also studied guitar with Dave Van Ronk and the Reverend Gary Davis. Steve and Stefan were both part of the early 60s Greenwich Village Folk and Blues scene. Along with John Sebastian, Maria Muldaur, and David Grisman they formed the Even Dozen Jug Band. Steve then went on to The Blues Project, and of course he's best known as a founding member of Blood Sweat and Tears. Not to mention VP of Mercury Records!

Created by Kat Koppett in association with Freestyle Repertory Theatre in New York, Spontaneous Broadway is a virtouso evening of musical improv.

The format received a rave review from The New York Times when it premiered in New York in 1995. You ain’t seen nuttin’ like it, folks!

New City Volunteer Ambulance Corps.
200 - Congers Road
New City, NY   See Map
This is our inaugural concert for calendar year 2012. Joe Crookston is perhaps the best singer songwriter to come along in the past 20 years. Besides having a pleasant and sweet voice and possessing excellent instrumental ability, his songs are timely and relevant. I am sure that each and every individual can find something in his or her own life that is being described in a Joe Crookston song. Somehow you feel that he is talking directly to you when he is performing his own original compositions. Joe hails from Ithaca, NY. Opening the show will be the duo of Great Blue, (Steve Kaplan & Shirl Lawrence), from Yorktown Heights, NY who perform original as well as traditional material, in the Pete Seeger style. Admission is $20 per person ($15 for Borderline members) and we ask you to bring a cold pot luck dessert dish to share with 4 other people. We are an alcohol free venue. For reservations solz1@optonline.net or call (845) 354-4586

Pianist and singer/songwriter Dan Pelletier writes some of the most clever, insightful, award-winning music on the scene. His soulful voice is powerful and gritty, tender and emotive.

Bombastic but brilliant, this quartet from New England exude a genuine musical authenticity and mirth on stages up and down the East Coast. Drawing influences from contemporary urban balladeers, rowdy southern bluegrass, and the sardonic yet wry wit of New England's localized folk scenes, Pesky J. Nixon creates an atmosphere both inviting and challenging for audiences. Compelling harmonies and narratives rein in disparate instrumentation including- zydeco style accordion, virtuosic mandolin, a variety of tribal percussion, and a myriad of string instrumentation.
