Saturday 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm | M R Poulopoulos Singer-Songwriter, Blues, and Acoustic | Taste Budd's Chocolate and Coffee Cafe 40 West Market Street Red Hook, NY See Map |
Sweetly melodic and often melancholy, as well as intelligent and soulful, Poulopoulos’s songs, like him, are honest and eloquent. His guitar playing makes you want to tap your feet, or cry a little. Sometimes both. His lyrics, complemented by the steady strum or picked out tones of the guitar, always tell a story — some are sad, some are happy, and some, like his song “On and On,” achieve both with a humorous spin — and they’re always poignant. His musical influences vary, but their common foundation is American blues and roots music. His many influences lend him to the acoustic singer/songwriter style, but without sounding like anyone in particular—his music is very much his own.

A TRIBUTE TO NEIL YOUNG-featuring some of Woodstock’s many talented musicians and singers offering their renditions of favorite and beloved Neil songs. Over the years, Young has been a guiding light to performers and listeners
alike due to the truthfulness and nerve he brings to his songwriting, as well as the tenderness and vulnerability he exposes in himself. He has continually explored new musical territory ... from rockabilly and the blues, to electronic music to hard rocking anthems ... that has served as the soundtrack of many of our lives over the years. On
Sunday night, that restless spirit will be on display thanks to the
efforts of: Kyle Esposito, Julie Last, George Quinn
Ross Rice,Robert B. Warren, Leslie Ritter, Charles Lyonhart, John Milward & Manuel Quintana. Admission $15 at the door or $12 for members

Michael is a rare observer who can condense a story into a few simple verses. He is a rare writer who creates poetry that sounds like speech. It seems to be just the way people talk, only better. Michael is also a rare composer who writes melodies that sound like the people whose stories they carry. In ancient days Michael might have been called a bard, but rather than telling tales of epic battles he chooses to tell the stories of people whose battles are smaller but, in their own way, just as epic. As you listen to Michael's songs you come to know these folks and you come to like them. As you listen to his songs you'll also come to know Michael, you'll like him too, and believe him, every line of every song." Dave Palmater, WUMB Public Radio Network,
