In spite of recessions and hurricanes, 9-11 anniversaries and foreclosures, we’ve made it through another year and come to yet another Thanksgiving. Family and friends are secure. Our area is getting back on its feet after Irene. High Falls Community Church and our wonderful community are still enjoying the blessings of God. Now it’s time to give thanks! This Friday night gathering includes a celebration in song, hymns of praise, and gospel music to honor God and bring joy to His people who gather this weekend before Thanksgiving.

The High Falls Community Church Choir will be joined with other voices from the area as well as with the great harmonies of “The Paashaus Brothers” for a night of song. Choose your favorite hymn or gospel song and we’ll try to include it! Spend this cold November night in the warmth of old fashioned fellowship and singing.

No fees...no offerings...just come and enjoy! If more information is needed, please contact Dan @ 687-4428.

It could be said that to free our voices is to contribute to peace in the world. When we sing & speak, the vibrations we create travel through our own bodies & energetic fields, creating harmony or disharmony. They travel outward--perhaps forever--doing the same. The more relaxed & open our voices are, the more freely we vibrate, like tuning forks, to higher, more harmonious frequencies. AND the more fun & confidence we have!

Singing can feel as natural as breathing, but many of us experience our voices as blocked, weak, or somehow not reflecting who we really are. Sometimes that even creates an inner dissonance: it can be hard to love an instrument that "identifies" us to our world, yet doesn't seem to reflect our deepest nature or intention.

In this workshop we’ll use simple voice & breathing exercises, toning & singing to free our voices. Each person's contribution will help everyone else in the circle. For speakers & singers of all levels & experience. Shy ones welcome!
$20 at door. Please reserve your place! (Above)

Lurking somewhere between “the next big thing” and “legend,” Elly Wininger is an award-winning songwriter and scintillating guitarist. With a heavy background in blues and finger picking, she has been called ‘a one-woman folk revival,’ and a ‘a musical explosion.’ Her recent frenzy of activity in clubs, festivals, house concerts and radio appearances comes after the release of “Back Eddy Blues” (2007) and “Part Time Paradise” (2010). Her song “Housewife from Hell” was in the top 10 on a radio station in Germany where Elly says “they must have a lot of pissed off women.” She was a 2010 Official Showcase Selection at Folk Alliance (Midwest), and a Folk DJs’ Choice at 2008 Folk Alliance (Northeast)

I love the Rosendale Cafe; they present world-class musicians and it's one of the few places I can go where I can order most anything they have on their menu!

What this is. Lifted from their site: "The Rosendale Cafe has been bringing notable performances to the area for 16 years. This more humble opportunity for local performances started with a very successful run of the Community Music Night, and the series has run on and off since fall 2007.

"The showcase has been a performance opportunity for both newly-established artists, and those that were outside the musical style of the Cafe's usual weekend bookings."
