 Kirtan is the practice of devotional singing to the Divine through the use of Sanskrit mantras. A form of ‘bhakti’ yoga (the yoga of devotion), this powerful, transformational spiritual practice is considered an easy path to liberation. Kirtan opens the heart, purifies the entire being and the surrounding atmosphere and stills the mind.
If you have never been to one, rest assured it is a solemn, holy experience that is also a ton of fun! King, Buddy Guy, Robert Cray, Gov Mule, Levon Helm at his Midnight Ramble and many more.

 Chad McLoughlin is an accomplished, versatile and innovative musician and composer whose creative approach and virtuosic technique have impressed audiences throughout his career.
Chad has performed and recorded with a wide range of artists including David Kikoski, Bob Francesini, Ruben Rodriguez, Mike Stern, Joel Rosenblatt, Carlo DeRosa, Richie Cannata, Chrisy Poland, Little Anthony, David Sancious, Manolo Badrena, David Torn, Ricky Nelson, Bo Diddley and many others. In 2009, he jointed the Mahavishnu Project which plays the music of John McLoughlin. Currently, he appears regularly with his trio, which includes drummer Thierry Arpino (Jean Luc Ponty) and bassist Dave Anderson ( Bill Evans ).
Chad has an extensive list of CD/album credits that represent a diversity of styles and genres. His trio is working on a new CD of exciting original music that is due to be released this year.

Following in the footsteps of some of his favourite artists like Colin Hay, Lloyd Cole and The Church, Travis’ lyrics are powerful instruments for reflection and hopefully change – just as life offers up a myriad of possibilities, some good – others not so good, Travis says his writing tries to see the best of it. Travis’ guitar-based pop songs push his voice out front and have been said to echo artists like England’s David Gray and Scottish band The Blue Nile.

Every 2nd and 4th Wednesday of the month, we invite you to join saxman and vocalist JP Patrick and his band, Patrick Murphy McDowell, as they rehearse, work, and play for each other, and for you. "Sessions" is an opportunity for audience members to be co-collaborators on a new song, or to simply get an up-close-and personal view of what it takes to put together a live performance. See how various guest musicians can actually change the entire feel of a song. Band members will be open to hearing your input... you'll be learning and entertained all at the same time.
Budding musicians of all ages will be inspired as they watch the creative process unfold. Even if you don't perform, you'll enjoy this intimate look at how musicians do what they love to do best: "play". Join us for a night of low-volume, high quality music the whole family will enjoy.
