Kirtan opens the heart, purifies the entire being and the surrounding atmosphere and stills the mind.
If you have never been to one, rest assured it is a solemn, holy experience that is also a ton of fun! If you like to sing, clap, bang on a percussion instrument, or are simply open to new ways to pay homage to your highest Self, your Being, the Divine Presence, God, Vishnu, or whatever signpost to the Ineffable you like to use, then we encourage you to come and give it a try.

The Veteran Musicians of this conjunto, to their credit have performed and recorded with artist such as Celia Cruz, Pete "el Conde" Rodriquez, Eddie Palmieri, And The New Swing Sextet, to name a few. During January 2011, by popular demand, Zion Train will be on tour in the USA for the first time in almost 15 years. Previewing tracks from the forthcoming album ‘State of Mind’, Perch & Dubdadda will be exposing a new generation to the power of Dub and pumping up the Bass on the East & West Coasts. The ‘Dub Fiyah Tour’ will feature guest appearances from Rocker T at West coast shows and East coast additions; Dub Gabriel and Noble Society featuring Jahdan Blackamore.
The new album, their first since the Reggae Grammy winning ‘Live as One’, is previewed by the single ‘Rainbow Children’; a reworking of the Aswad classic that features Brinsley Forde on vocals alongside Dubdadda.
The band has played innumerable festivals and toured endlessly across Europe, Africa and the Far East in the past 20 years and can’t wait to give US audiences a taste of the full weight of the Zion Train sound.

Doug Munro, a critically acclaimed New York jazz guitarist and founder of Big Boss Bossa, has received two Grammy nominations and two NAIRD awards. Doug has worked with a diverse array of artists including Dr. John, Michael Brecker, and Dr. Lonnie Smith. His current CD Big Boss Bossa Nova 2.0 has garnered rave reviews from critics, fans, and musicians.
Michael Goetz (bass) has worked with a number of highly accomplished jazz artists, the Glenn Miller and Lou Anderson Big Bands, and multi-instrumentalist David Amram. He has worked on Broadway shows including The Producers, Young Frankenstein, Les Miserables, and more.
Jason Devlin (drums) has performed with members of the Gene Krupa, Maynard Ferguson and Buddy Rich, Conan O'Brien, and Allman Brothers band and has worked with numerous jazz artists.

The Hurricanes is led by guitarist Chris "Otis" Cross. Cea Marie has been making music for many moons with various bands and fellow musicians. some of these experiences have been wonderful. some have been not so wonderful and quite and heart-breaking. she moved to columbia county, ny in 2006 and took a little musical "siesta" so she could repair and reflect. during this time she continued on her other project, hba, and began slowly writing again, until a new body of work was formed. she met jez through some remix work he did on some of hba's material and asked him if he'd produce her new album, though she had no money to pay him with and only poor jokes. he suprisingly said yes. either he is crazy for saying yes or knows good music when he hears it. and thus cea marie officially was born.

 Fred Scribner, aka Midnight Slim, is a former member of The Levon Helm and is on Helm's "The Midnight Ramble Vol. 1". Scribner was also the driving force behind Little Sammy Davis and Midnight Slim, the House Band for Imus in the Morning Show, for almost 20 years.
Midnight Slim and Little Sammy Davis were nominated for the W.C. Handy Award (1996) for their release, "I Ain't Lyin", and won "Come Back Artist of the Year" in "Living Blues Magazine" that same year. Their hit CD "Traveling Man" is available CDBaby.com.

 Pocket Rocket is a band made up of a winning combination of talent: the inimitable Petey Hop on lead guitar/vocals, guitar hero Will Van Sise on guitar/vocals, JJ Clarke on drums and Phil Caron on bass. This is gonna be one of those classic, Classic Rock nights as they perform Rock covers as well as Pete's original songs like "Talk", "Mountain" and "G.I. Blues".
The original material that Pete writes is eclectic to say the least, running the gamut from straight up Rock & Roll, Americana, Electric and Acoustic Blues, Country, Singer/Songwriter, Alternative, and other influences. In addition to being an accomplished singer/frontman, Pete is a sought after sideman. He's played with Mitch Woods not only in Athens, Greece, but also at the Rhythm & Roots festival and The Chenango Blues festival, to name a few. Pete recently had the honor of opening for Buddy Guy at the Ridgefield Playhouse.

 Boston's 92.5 has coined jazzy/folk-rock singer/songwriter, Sarah Blacker, as "the perfect blend of Ella Fitzgerald and Joni Mitchell." Since the release of her debut album, 'The Only Way Out is Through', (2009) at the Hard Rock Café in Boston, Blacker has consistently won over audiences. She was named the Number 1 Artist of 2009 by Max Bowen, writer for the Noise and Number 2 Independent Artist for WMVY Radio, Martha's Vineyard, MA.
Blacker travels with her black guitar, her mandolin, "Mandy", and often her black lab, Beasley. A witty and soulful performer, with an incredibly unique voice, Candy O'Terry of Magic 106.7, Boston loves "the fact that she's an artist with a social conscience."
This CD Release Party is for Sarah's second album, "Come What May". She has shared the stage with Sara Bareilles Farren-Butcher, Inc., Sharon Little, Greg Hawkes of the Cars, Laura Veirs, Liam Finn, Carbon Leaf, Meg Hutchinson and more.

 Rich Kelly (pictured here) is a singer, bassist and guitarist who plays solo and as a sideman in many ensembles. He's been showcased on local TV shows such as The Working Musician. Rich is a frequent performer at our Singer/Songwriter Showcases. Rich performs both originals and covers with an infectious style that keeps us, and his fans, coming back for more.
Tara Dougherty is a singer/songwriter who combines soulful vocals with a folk flavor. Tara's been playing on the New York City circuit for several years exciting audiences with her poetic lyrics. Join us on the couch or for a relaxing dinner, and a special evening of original music.
