No Brakes plays its final outdoor gig of the season at the Farmers' Market in beautiful Millbrook, New York. Blending bluegrass covers and originals is the specialty of this popular local group. Come enjoy the music and the harvest.

The Praisin' in the Park Festival benefits 89.7 The Sound of Life Radio and Care Net Pregancy Center. The Festival is a community gathering featuring a mix of praise and worship teams from local churches. Festival Starts at 1:00 pm. Vito Petroccitto will be on with Streets of Gold around 5:00pm. Tickets are $7 in advance, $10 at the door, Seniors (65+) $5, Children 5 and under are free.

There comes a time when all the elements of excellence converge under the same domain and produce an incomparable result, never before experienced. SAGE, the all-women jazz, blues and contemporary ensemble, has dared to rise to this historic place in music with a sound that transcends time and generation. Part contemporary, part sassy, part nostalgic, these ladies deliver what every music audience is looking for, the best in the art. 
NO other venue in the Hudson Valley can boast a more intimate evening of music and a better lineup of talented songwriters than the John Street Jam. Four musicians face each other in the center of the room and the audience sits around them, close enough to hear every nuanced note, whispered word and comic quip.

The Paul Miller Quartet, the band that wasn't planned, are at Chatham's Peint O Gwrw Saturday night to dazzle listeners once again with their energetic and thoughtful music. Still forging ahead into the unknown and boldly blowing what no band has blown before, the PMQ continue to develop their take on the latest trend in Improvisitory Pop, the genre known as SNARF, or more specifically, the local version NYSNARF. They recently played at an impressively medium sized venue in the teeming metropolis of Valatie, NY. Their landmark, NO make that land-mine performance at the Valatie Community Theater showed the audience of approximately 17,450 people that this mathematically challenged three piece quartet is not to be daunted by such grandiose proportions as those which confronted them that night (and every other night, for that matter). When asked how the theater environment compared to that of one of the local pubs, drummer Paul Reed replied, "I'm sorry. What was that?"

For all its technical brilliance, wicked syncopation and harmonic sophistication, Kottke's music is eminently accessible. At heart he's a populist. This has been abundantly clear ever since the guitarist's 1969 debut. Over the years, Kottke has worked in the studio and shared concert stages with everyone from Lyle Lovett, John Fahey, T-Bone Burnett and Rickie Lee Jones, to Paco de Lucia, Pepe Romero, John Williams, John McLaughlin and Joe Pass.

With his fearless musical curiosity as the guiding force, Tony Trischka's latest critically acclaimed release, Territory, roams widely through the banjo's creative terrain, exploring a panorama of tunings, banjo sounds and traditions with fellow banjoists Pete Seeger, Mike Seeger, Bill Evans, Bill Keith and Bruce Molsky. Other musicians Trischka has collaborated with include Steve Martin, Peter Rowan, Earl Scruggs and many other luminaries. It's likely you've already enjoyed his playing – possibly on the soundtrack of Driving Miss Daisy, on Garrison Keillor's Prairie Home Companion, Mountain Stage or any of a number of other places his inventive work has appeared over the years.

At 16 years old, Connor Kennedy is already performing with world class musicians and making a name for himself in the Hudson Valley. A multi-instrumentalist, Kennedy plays all kinds of music delivered authentically with energy. Whether he's playing smooth blues licks, or twangy telecaster lines, Connor Kennedy will leave your ears wanting more.
Performing with Connor are two young musicians of a rare caliber for their ages. On bass, is 18-year old Lincoln Center award winning bassist Shawn Ferraro. Shawn was awarded Most Outstanding Bass Soloist at the 2009 Essentially Ellington competition. On the drums, is the soulful 15-year old Lee Falco. Lee, like Levon Helm, is a singing drummer; a rarity in todays music scene. Together, the three voices of Connor, Shawn, and Lee produce wonderful three part harmonies remeniscent of The Band, and The Grateful Dead.
