Jon Fuller
Acoustic
Taste Budd's Chocolate and Coffee Cafe
40 West Market Street
Red Hook, NY   See Map
On a recent trip to upstate New York, Jon Fuller paid his respects at Uncle Sam's grave. Though he did not have a life-changing experience there, the character he created in his song "Uncle Sam's Grave" did, seeing the burial place of that iconic man as a rallying cry for action. Jon's songs are rarely diary entries, but rather tall tales- there is most likely a grain of personal experience within them, but it may be hard to find. Looking back at a relationship one day, Jon turned that thought quickly into a song about finding a time machine in his front yard (and the subsequent adventures finding such a machine would bring). Finding inspiration from acts as diverse as Billy Joel, Kate Bush and System of a Down, Jon takes them all and, through his upbeat attitude and clear voice, makes them his own.

Acoustic
12 Grapes Music & Wine Bar
12 North Division Street
Peekskill, NY   See Map
Our 5:30pm Mother's Day dinner seating will feature live acoustic music from a very unique group of talented musicians. With a concert harp and guitar at the forefront, The Callen Sisters' sound is rootsy yet ethereal and infused with a certain pop sensibility. Their influences include Fleetwood Mac, Fiona Apple, Tori Amos and The Beatles. These are women who believe in life and want to share that belief through the telling of their own experience. Their songs speak of love, abandonment, fathers and daughters, London, San Francisco, canyons and even body image. The songs are laced with lots of harmonies and textured arrangements. Musically, the harp has lent The Callen Sisters an original sound. They're joined tonight by singer/songwriter Will Knox who's performed with Art Garfunkel and Pete Francis of Dispatch. We look forward to presenting these talented musicians on this special day. Mom will love you for it.
