On May 1st, Peekskill's 4th Annual Cinco de Mayo celebration will be packed with free entertainment including live music, piñata treats, prizes, games for the kids, dancing and great food. 12 Grapes and the other restaurants on N. Division will offer outdoor dining, and our dining room will be open as well.
Festivities begin at 1:00 and continue til 9pm with live performances including Mariachi and Mexican bands, Ballet Folklórico and more. The celebration will be located at the intersection of Central Avenue and North Division Street near the Gazebo. Our street will be closed to traffic, and you can find free parking at all the parking lots.

During the 7 years that Chris and Levon played together, they toured across the US – lighting up stages everywhere they went. Chris has also appeared on stage with The Fabulous Thunderbirds, Jimmy Vivino, Albert Lee and Dave Edmunds. A charismatic singer and prolific songwriter, Red's songs are populated by hobos, flowers, telepathy, motherhood, eternity, war, peace, housework, reincarnation, insanity, rage, childhood, old age, rivers, oceans, stars and a few X boyfriends....
Red was born in New York City, but grew up in England. She cut her performing teeth playing clubs in Europe for ten years, before returning to the USA where she collaborated with the late producer Steve Burgh (John Prine, Willie Nelson, Steve Forbert), who produced her first album, "Water Planet", and introduced her to a family of East Coast folk and roots musicians, some of whom she still works with today.
Red disappeared for several years to raise 2 boys ("..I think I'm getting the hang of it now...").
She returned last year with a new Rebel Red album, "Sex, Religion, Politics", featuring guitarist Jeff Pevar (Ray Charles, Crosby, Stills and Nash) and saxophonist Erik Lawrence (Levon Helm).

Under the direction of Janet Gehres accompanied by Edward Leavitt, the SUNY Ulster chorus will feature music from Haydn’s “Creation,” Mozart’s “Requiem,” Mendelssohn’s “Elijah,” and the musical Les Miserables, along with spiritual, patriotic, men’s glee club and multi-cultural repertoire.
The vocal ensemble will feature music from the Renaissance and jazz eras.
The guitar ensemble, directed by Gregory Dinger, will perform music of the baroque, a surf-guitar class and music from South America.

Kip and Joe are part of the Gil Parris band, and Marc has performed with the Bacon Brothers, Martha Reeves, Jewel and recorded with artists like Marc Anthony, Celine Dion, The Bee Gees and many others.

Pianist Mark Shane is our special guest this time around. Mark Shane’s jazz piano is firmly rooted in a tradition established by such piano masters as James P. Johnson, Fats Waller, Teddy Wilson, Count Basie, Earl Hines and Art Tatum. Mark Shane served an extended tenure as house pianist at Eddie Condon’s legendary jazz club in New York City. Shane has played with Benny Goodman, Buck Clayton, Buddy Tate and many other all star alumni from the great bands of Louis Armstrong, Count Basie, Duke Ellington, Tommy Dorsey and Glenn Miller. it wiil be a real treat having him with us at High Falls on Tuesday.
